delfamdelfam
in a ppr league, does this guy worth a late round pick? He was a ppr monster in his rookie year and fell of the earth last year, but all signs in Denver from McDaniels say their trying to use him more. He looked ok yesterday and I feel like he is a decent guy to stash on your bench and hope for the best, if he replicates his rookie year, you got yourself a WR2 in ppr leagues. I just don't think he fits the scheme in Denver. He looks good, but not sure if he gets the routes all that well, hence the production loss whilst other receivers growing in productivity. He has talent, but I just don't think he will have much value as FF WR in Denver.

He has talent, but I just don't think he will have much value as FF WR in Denver. he's a great route runner, extremely quick through his cuts. if you watched him at all his rookie season, this was very apparent. the problem has been mcdaniels' inability to use him effectively. he had him split out wide going downfield all the time last year. and that just doesn't work with royal's talents, he's more troy brown than desean jackson. they seem to have recognized that, and have talked about utilizing him more effectively, but it remains to be seen. but if I had to pick a denver WR to own, it would probably be him over gaffney (even though gaffney has been going higher after he caught a lot of balls in the second preseason game). BearBroncos
Whether it's the routes or not, I guess, depends on how you define "routes". Royal is fantastic at static patterns and getting enough separation to put himself in a position for success. If you think reading defenses on the fly and adjusting routes dynamically is part of "routes", then yeah, he's got some improving to do. EDIT: The good news is that Royal won't have to return kicks this year as Perrish Cox and Sydquan Thompson looked fookin' awesome yesterday. Cox look freaking haut last night. That was a little reassuring.
BearBroncos
You must've turned off the game before Sydquan -- 4th qtr? -- came in to show off cuz he was fun to watch also. During the weekdays, my wife and I do P90X at 3:30AM, before work. I tend to go to bed early
