In a re-draft, I personally take Santonio, suspension and all. A few concerns with Bryant that I'd have: 1. He's a rookie and rookie WRs historically have one of the steeper learning curves of all positions 2. He's missed all the preseason so he hasn't been able to get acclimated to Romo or the system 3. He hasn't played a down of competitive football since September 2009 so even if he had points 1 and 2 down, it's gonna take him some time to adjust to the speed of an NFL game I get that the guy is extremely talented, but I just think the chips are stacked against him - this year anyway. Just my two cents. And to play the devils advocate A few concerns I have with Santonio Holmes 1. Suspended the first four weeks of football. 2. Playing on a very conservative offense... 3. That has a quarterback who has a deer in the headlights look. Cowboyz1 Posted September 2, 2010 Share Posted September 2, 2010 (edited) Dez has great hands, runs great routes and has a pro bowl QB throwing the ball. That said, I believe he may be the final piece of the puzzle that pushing this team over the hump and gets them to the promised land. However, while he may push this Offense into elite status, I think the cost of that is watered down individual stats. Similar to the Saints last year. When you consider Austin, Roy Williams who has something to prove, Witten, Dez, Barber and Jones all getting involved it makes for a very explosive offense that can move the ball. However, like the saints last year there were a lot of contributors to their success and no one person really had a crazy TD year. I am very excited about the skills he brings to the table but I think he is more of a 2 to 3 catch a game guy in critical situations that keep the drive alive and allow the Cowboys to score more TD's and win games then being a dominate pass catcher with 6 to 8 catches per game 80 yards and a TD. Bottom line is he is a rookie and no matter how good you are it takes time to be a force. Especially with so many other proven targets. Like I said he will help the Cowboys win this year week in and week out just by his presence and by making a big play here and there each game to keep drives alive. But not a very solid and reliable fantasy stud. I expect Austin to be great with 13 TD's and believe it or not Roy to have a solid year with another 9 TD's. Dez has 4 TD's and a lot of great first down catches throughout the season providing yet another threat that dilutes defensive coverage for Roy, Austin and Witten. my .02 Edited September 2, 2010 by Cowboyz1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have this weird feeling that Detroit will suprise this year. The defense has been upgraded along the line and guys like Delmas have another year of experience (Follet is too green at LB but a hitter and will learn). Sure there are holes, Calvin needs to stay healthy all year and the offense is still 'green'; but I have this feeling that they will be close in many games and possibly go 8-8. Dez Bryant was passed on by the Broncos because they believe DeMaryius Thomas is a better receiver. Completely different types of players that have different roles in different offenses. If memory serves me correct, Dez Bryant didn't perform at all at the NFL Combine. His meeting with Jerry Jones went well enough. What does being dippy or irresponsible have to do with being a POS? I think you probably have some Cowboys hatred deep down inside of you and want to make anyone that has diva like qualities into a POS, which is wrong. I'll also say after hearing him interviewed by local media, he sounds like a good guy. He needs to grow up, but then again, I did as well when I was 21 years old.
