DMD
In exchange for a seventh round pick - what a deal.
Chris1982
Interesting pick... I think this drops Legedu Nannee's stock.
JUMbotron
I think Philip Rivers resents the General Manager's way of doing business. 6'5" monsters like VJ don't grow on trees. You have to wonder about A.J. Smith sometimes.... JUM

bpwallace49
Ehh . . . I think Naanee and Floyd are still the top two . . Crayton can fight Buster davis for the slot . . no big deal really.
ts
... 6'5" monsters like VJ don't grow on trees ... As I recall, Roy Williams is maybe 6'3", I have to wonder if Dallas first offered him rather than Crayton, but San Diego wanted to keep the case of Diet Pepsi that Dallas wanted in return for Williams, and felt that Crayton for a 7th was better overall value. Chris1982
Gates is #1, Floyd #2, Nannee and Crayton #3... I'm staying away from the Chargers, other than Gates of course.

Chris1982
I meant for WRs... Mathews will be a huge play this year... But with Gates the #1 option, Floyd #2, Sproles will steal some catches, and the recent signing of Crayton, I don't trust any WRs this year on SD... I think it's gonna be a hit and miss week for all of them, other than Gates.
delfamdelfam
I actually like Naanee just cause he's a deep threat, both Gates and Floyd are more middle of the fielld guys cause there size, that's why I think Naanee is a good pickup cause he'll stretch the field unlike the other recievers. Naanee is 6'2" 220. He averaged 10.1 yards a catch last year. Floyd averaged 17.2 yards a catch. Your thinking isn't backed up at all by the numbers. Edited September 3, 2010 by Capt. Chris1982
Nannee is a possession-slot receiver.
Shotgun Messiahs
I bet Crayton took that as a slap in the face, being traded for a 7th round pick lmao.
matt770
Interesting pick... I think this drops Legedu Nannee's stock. A few of the sites immediately said this too, and I don't get it. First we hear Nannee is a sleeper pick, a talented #2 WR who will benefit from VJax being gone, and now mediocre Crayton who wasn't a factor in a very favorable passing offense is going to come in and steal snaps from Nannee. It's kind of like how everyone knocked Jason Campbell as a crappy QB when he was with Washington (which I agree with), but now in Oakland he's a huge upgrade and the RBs and WRs are going to benefit. Not buying it.
Chris1982
I'm just implying that if SD was completely happy with Naanee in the slot, they wouldn't have signed Crayton.
BeeR
I bet Crayton took that as a slap in the face, being traded for a 7th round pick lmao. That's because he's stupid. It's all he's worth.
tazinib1
I wouldn't drop Naanee from your rankings because of Crayton. In the 3rd pre-season game, Naanee had Rivers eyes the entire half and didn't drop a pass...some were overthrown but thats not his fault. Crayton might take a couple targets away from both on 3 WR sets, but he won't make a dent fantasy wise unless there is an injury.

doobwaa
Floyd is every bit the receiver as VJax who had decent numbers with Gates around...it shouldnt suprise anyone if Floyd puts up 60-70 catches 1100-1200 yards and 7-10 TDs. Its really the same guy....the same system....hell they are both 6'5 225 lbs Crayton is just an experienced WR who cost SD nothing and will be there to step in if any other WR gets hurt. JUMbotron
Yeah Naanee is one of the most popular players in the organization, he's paid his dues on special teams. It's his shot in 2010. There's a reason SD kept this 5th rd pick around for 4 years. Norv Turner drinks more Naanee Kool-Aid than fantasy geeks. “If Vincent Jackson isn’t with us, Legedu Naanee is getting the opportunity of a lifetime,” Turner said in July. http://bolttalk.com/chargers-fan-forum/250...ady-emerge.html Patrick Crayton could end up being inactive for the first several weeks, I wouldn't be surprised. Not buying it. DUDE! Every year the Raiders are a better team from their Super Bowl Victory from the previous year. I don't know why they even play the games, the Faiders take the trophy home every year! As a Charger fan, all I hear over the years is how great this team is going to be, how much improved, finally on the "Raider track" again, Etc, etc, etc, blah blah f'n BLAH. Like you, I will believe it when I see it, but this is still a below average team and Campbell is not the second coming. He sucked in DC and will suck worse in Oakland on a less talented team with the Ice Cream Man playing puppeteer with his hand up the arse of a nothing head coach. The ONLY way the Raiders return to the glory of the past is for the corpse to finally be interned! I actually want them to get better and be good again. I used to enjoy the heck out of the rival, now it is boring.
McBoog
I'm just implying that if SD was completely happy with Naanee in the slot, they wouldn't have signed Crayton. Nope! They only have Buster Davis (who finally showed some skills the other night) and nothing after that. Crayton provides veteran depth at WR and in the return game. He'll get some looks in a few weeks, but Naanee is a solid guy and still, IMO, a steal in most leagues.
Riffraff
What happened to Josh Reed? Got cut.
McBoog
huh, I missed that. Just announced... I'm surprised they cut so many WRs. I suspect Williams will go on their practice squad. But who do they have? Floyd, Naanee, Crayton, Davis... anyone else? Gates and Jebus!
Riffraff
Chargers went skimpy on offense and deep on defense. 2 QBs, 2 HBs, 2 FBs, 4 WRs. 29 players on defense, 21 on offense, and three specialists.
