Union Jack
Was watching preseason football and I swore I heard the announcers say that the Falcons have been working on getting Turner the ball via the pass out of the backfield. This would sway to taking him with the 5th pick in a 12 teamer... anyone see/hear anything on this?? UJack
BS Miscreant
I heard the same thing while watching a game but Turner was barely catching anything before so an increase is not necessarily saying much.
keggerz
if you think Turner can approach 30 catches then yeah that will alter his PPR value some.
tazinib1
if you think Turner can approach 30 catches then yeah that will alter his PPR value some. doubtful...but stranger things have happened. Now, this is assuming he CATCHES 30 balls, which means he'll need at least 40 targets.
BS Miscreant
If you really believe that 30 catches and/or 40 targets is the magic number then I'd say PPR relevance as for making a noticable difference in his ranking is very realistic. That's only 2.5 targets and fewer than 2 catches per game. That doesn't sound like much for a guy they just claimed they want to get more involved in the passing game. Now 30 catches in a year would BE fantasy relevant based on Turners pathetic average of 4.5 reception PER YEAR. But again, HIGHLY doubtful. They don't throw to the dude for a reason. They don't throw to him, because that's not his role, not because he can't catch. He's looked just fine catching in the preseason, and yes, they have been throwing to him some, and do claim to get him more involved... It's going to go hand-in-hand with the falcons not wanting him to take a big beating, despite him being due for another large workload. But the reason I'd consider drafting Turner as a fifth or sixth pick: just take a look at a recent picture. The rumors of him being in much better shape are no lie. WaterMan
I think they like him for pass blocking for their franchise QB.
Avernus
I think they like him for pass blocking for their franchise QB. all that is required sometimes is if he chips the DE clean and turns around for a pass about 5 steps later...
