nogohawk
Having a party this weekend and planning on serving some Sherry Amontillado. Never had it before, but wondering how to serve it? Chilled or room temperature? Type of glass to use - port, wine, shot? TIA for any assistance. ETA - Any suggestions on when to serve (before or after dinner) and what to accompany it? Edited September 7, 2010 by nogohawk
Bier Meister
typically as an aperitif, slightly chilled. i'd use port glasses if you have them. that would be fun with a cheese board (and some type of spanish olives, almonds, and whatnot). i am big on pairing things regionally. nogohawk
I've got a cask in my basement....follow me....just a bit further.... Funny you should mention it ... my step-son is taking his first foray into amatuer film-making (short versions) and we are having the world premier of "The Cask of Amatillado" at our house in a few weeks. They used various parts of the house and yard to film it. I got several bottles of Gonzalez-Byass Amontillado "Del Duque" to celebrate the showing with his cast & crew. Should be a real fun time. I'll take bier's advice and get some nice cheese & olives. Cheers!
