Marshawn Lynch

With all the talk surrounding possible trades to Green Bay, what are the actual chances? Is he worth a roster spot? If he would end up in Green Bay he could be a true Beast Mode! The guy is so talented he deserves 15-18 touches a game on some team. The Bills are rebuilding and there is no need to hold all 3.

except Ted Thompson isn't trading away premium picks for anyone.

I would agree that it would seem more prudent for GB to see if they can manage with what they've got and (in the event its not working) look to sign a FA to a 1 yr deal. Unless, of course, they are legitimately concerned Grant's injury is such that he might not be the same and they truly dont have much faith in BJ or Nance or whomever they already have. Maybe if that was the case they'd explore their options for a trade?

Someone just traded for Lynch in our league and it would seem he overpaid for him. Is something brewing out there again? This owner is pretty sharp, what does he know?

Taken from ESPN.

Whether or not the Packers are ready to pull the trigger on a trade to bring in Marshawn Lynch (see below), it might be a moot point.

Chris Brown of BuffaloBills.com reports that the Bills' position has not changed: they plan on keeping their stable of three running backs intact, regardless of the logic of turning one of the extras into a draft pick or starting-caliber player at another position.

---

On Wednesday, the football-loving world was abuzz with speculation that Lynch could be traded to the Green Bay Packers to help make up for the loss of Ryan Grant. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers -- Lynch's teammate at Cal -- seems to have greenlighted the idea, given his comments to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Coincidentally, the Pack have a pretty good commodity to send to Buffalo in A.J. Hawk. Hawk doesn't play in the team's nickel and dime packages, thus he was on the sidelines for the entire game against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. While he's not specifically requesting a trade, he'd be open to a fresh start, according to what his agent told Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

"A.J. is a pro's pro and wants to do his part to help the team win, and his first priority is to be the best Packer he can," agent Mike McCartney said on Wednesday. "But if some team called and wanted him to play on all three downs, I think he'd be excited about that."

The Bills would offer that opportunity, at least initially, given the injury to Paul Posluszny. On the other hand, we're not so sure the Pack are willing to make a trade at all, but especially not before seeing what they've really got in Brandon Jackson.

Ted Thompson isn't going to trade a mid round pick for a player. He's far more likely to roll with Jackson/Kuhn and see what the guy they signed off of Atlanta's practice squad has.

I'd be all for Lynch in Green Bay, but it's not happening.

I think Thompson would be open to it; I DON'T think Buffalo is open to it.

They turned down a 3rd + a player earlier this year; Thompson won't offer that much.

As a Bills fan, I would welcome a HAWK/LYNCH trade. We need the LB help and the last thing we need is another RB.

P.S. Please don't make fun of me for being a Bills fan. kthxbye

May be that the Bills' position is firm as the article suggests, but you most definitely cannot hang your hat on anything a team says... NOW.

This applies to any team. Announcing they're open to a trade reduces their leverage, so of course a team is gonna say "not interested" outwardly. What they may be discussing behind closed doors is usually an entirely different story. Not saying there's a trade afoot, but you're also wrong to just take it as the last word just because the Bills' publicly said they're not interested.
