BigMikeinNY
I think we are about to witness some of the worst over spending on all time of the wive wire. I'm curious to see what some free agents went for in blind bidding money leagues.

Henry Muto
I can't wait to see how much B-Jackson goes for in my high stakes dynasty league...seeing is how my RB's are J-Stewart, Harrison, C-Taylor, L-Johnson and Maroney you could see me going about 3/4 of my budget on him then again I may pass...undecided right now. Henry Muto
You play in a high stakes league ... I never would have guessed ... Would you rather have me word it "FFPC" dynasty league ? I play in 3 dynasty leagues, CFL, DLCM and FFPC. Jackson is gone in both the CFL and DLCM leagues as those are both true dynasty leagues with deep benches, taxi squads ect. FFPC does none of that but still calls their league a "dynasty" league. Ok so I will use the name FFPC from now on.

staniels12
I think what he's saying is that we'd like you to list every league that you're in, the entry fee and winner's amount in every thread so we fully understand how serious that you are about FF. Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball.

This. But on a more serious note - did Muto have some intense league cutbacks this offseason or what? When I need to cut back, I drop one league - maybe two. If Muto is in three, he cut what... 24 leagues? Edited September 16, 2010 by kpholmes

buddahj
I won the "Brandon Jackson Sweepstakes" in one of my locals. I was 2nd out of 12 in the waiver order. I'm pretty sure he won't be my ticket to the postseason, but he upgrades my group of RRBC.
ksu70
$1000 budget in my local league and Jackson went for $1000. Not so much an indication of his real value but more an indication that this guy is an idiot.
kcmast
$100 budget, BJackson went for $100 to an owner without Grant (I have Grant and bid $20). Peyton Hillis come on down... Edited September 16, 2010 by kcmast
loaf
in the only blind bid league I'm in, Jackson went for $624 (I think) out of $1,
frownie
16-team, 18 roster spots:Peyton Hillis went for 62%. Clayton went 41%... seems like decent value actually. Vick went 24%... if Vick plays as well as I think he can, this is a huge steal. Tolbert went 3%... I could kick myself for not putting in a bid on this one. I landed Shaun Hill for 2%... a little surprised at this considering the size and depth of the league. fwiw, I had bids on Hillis, clayton, and Vick close to half of what they went for. Clayton for 41% of free agent budget? And that's a steal? Man, I'd love to be in some of your leagues. Well, the ones you don't quit 2 days before the draft, that is. Same deal in one of my leagues. Guy dropped his entire bankroll on Jackson. The Grant owner bid $70, and other owners bid $55 and $32. We'll see if that was money well spent or not... wolfer
ya I'm looking at Jackson and thinking I'll settle on Hillis in 2 leagues. The waiver price will be sky high. That said, Collie is available in one of my leagues, and I suspect a "mario Manningham 2009" type of frenzy for him. Ofcourse we all saw Manningham leveled out and lost targets to Nicks (not to mention some dropsies at key moments). I don't think Collie in the slot has the same problem and this time it's Garcon that is dropping passes. Should be an interesting waiver week. Gopher
I spent $355 (out of $1000) on Mark Clayton, and another $55 on the SEA defense, dropping Laurent Robinson and Bernard Berrian (in the Huddle Ladder HOF league). I know it's a lot to spend, especially for a WR that I may not even end up starting, at least until the bye weeks start (I've got Welker/Edelman, Naanee, and Austin, as well as Sidney Rice). But, after watching this weekend's games, I just don't see how Berrian is going to be much of a factor in a PPR league... he just isn't reliable enough to get many targets from Favre. Same thing in St. Louis... I'm not sure Robinson won't catch more TD's than Clayton (or anybody else for the Rams, for that matter), but I don't see him being the better Rams WR in a PPR league. Obviously, I doubt Clayton's high number of targets will stay at his Week 1 pace, but I can't help but like the chemistry he seems to have with Bradford. I'll take a chance on him, as my 4th or 5th WR... if nothing else, just to keep him off somebody else's roster, and plug him in for bye weeks, or when he has a favorable matchup again. As for the Seattle defense, I think they're in for a solid year, as long as certain key pieces (Tatupu, for example) stay healthy. Might not be an every-week start, but I especially like them at home... Not to mention, their fantasy playoff schedule looks decent (when I pair it up with my other D, New Orleans). If there's one thing I've learned in my years in the Ladder League, it's that you sometimes have to bid an insane amount, to get the guy(s) you want. If you throw out mediocre bids, you end up getting mediocre waiver wire pickups.

One thing I have learned is not to be too quick to pass judgement on a player I drafted (unless injured, of course). Like DMD said in "Tunnel Vision", now is the time to not only watch who is being added but who is being dropped. You may be kicking yourself if one (or both) of those players end up having pretty good years on someone else's team. Just sayin... I think I would have given those players at least another week before pulling the trigger and dropping one for a backup DST. My $0.02...
