Lucky11
just looking for a [dis]interested third party opinions regarding trades amongst those who play in on-line leagues who also frequent the same message boards. the example: in a money league, Owner X presented a trade to Owner Y through the league website. Owner Y rejected the trade through the website, and then went to the communal message board (where the league originated) and proceeded to deride Owner X for even making the offer and what a joke the offer was to begin with. (offer: Foster & Cutler for Rogers & Wayne). whether or not you think the offer was legit or "fair," do you think proposed trades should be message board fodder outside of the league MB? or a better question: should trade offers remain in the confidence of the parties involved, and not discussed publicly amongst the rest of the league? what say you? gallagorilla
if youre embarrassed that the trade will be made public, you probably shouldnt have proposed it in the first place
slambo
I consider public berating like that to be bush league. But its better than a veto. Edited September 19, 2010 by slambo
The Wolf
Owner Y is a monster truck aficionado for pulling a stunt like that. All he did was ensure that the other owners in the league will think twice about making him any offers in the future for fear of the same treatment. Ramhock
And for what it's worth, deridation was well deserved. Going forward, Foster could be viewed as a mid - late 1st rounder, same as Rodgers. Wayne, sill a high 2nd rounder. Cutler, still a 5th+. Grimm74
First and least important the trade is not that bad. Especially not bad enough for a public flogging. It isnt good business for him to do that, but what are you asking? Is is not cool? Probably not.... League action??? No.
TheAdonis2010
i'm definitely all for public ridicule for proposing trades.......i don't know how many times i have rejected stupid trades while yelling out loud "are you serious!?".......even though this particular trade isnt the worst thing in the world cmon...u got someones 1st and 2nd round draft picks for probably a 3rd-8th??....i say call em out...verbally abuse them, and make them think twice about trying to drain your team or anyone elses
Mello
The only etiquette is based on how the rest of the league will react.
