It sure seems like LT is the starter for NY now

Have you been watching the game??? Greene is clearly the better runner maybe if they started giving him the ball more they would actually have a running game. Sure L.T. is great if you like a 3 yard run every time he touches the ball. I just dont understand this.

well I guess theres egg on my face! L.T. is looking pretty good I really think Greene would do just as well though given the oppertunity.

Greene has fumblitis, that's why he's not seeing the action.

It will be roughly 50-50 the rest of the way through. Some games will be more LT and others more Greene. LT is better and protecting Sanchez from the blitz, so you will see him there on obvious passing downs. LT is also the way better pass catcher. You will see much more Greene when they move to the "ground and pound" mode. It will be a pure platoon as most Jets fans tried to tell everyone who was drafting Greene way too high. Smart people have LT on their bench as a fill-in for bye weeks or flex needs. He was way underrated in the ADPs and Greene was inflated.

LT can't handle 50/50 hence Greene is and will be the starter. They are giving LT the reins while they punish Greene for his last 2 fumbles. Greene is their back for the future but they have an experienced Hall of Famer. But he's old and will get real tired by mid season. If they don't conserve him, they won't even get 3rd down work out of him and will have to rely on McNight to back up Greene which would be a BAD thing!

Let me clarify. I was speaking only of the 2010 season, not beyond. But it will indeed average out to 50-50, particularly because they don't trust Greene to protect Sanchez in blitzing situations yet. Also, they need LT out there for when Sanchez has to check down. Although Greene did catch one yesterday. Greene was punished last week by being benched in the 2nd half. There was no carry over "punishment" to week 2. LT will see at least half the snaps for a while. Whether he wears down by midseason is just your idle speculation, and I do not agree. He sure looks to have plenty of burst. Greene will be in plenty and in some games will be in for more snaps than LT. But overall, it will be the dfinitive platoon. If you want to call Greene the "starter", be my guest. but that's meaningless for fantasy purposes. It is who gets the most touches, and I think it will wind up close to an even split, with LT getting more for the moment.

Greene's ADP for 2010 was way too high and LT's way too low. Greene owners need to get over the delusion. But, if you are talking Keeper leagues, then it is an entirely different story.

Interesting to see who was running the ball when the Jets were closing out the game yesterday against a hated rival. Looked to me like it was the kid with "fumblitiis" rather than the vet with all the burst...

exactly. When the Jets go into "ground and pound" mode it will be almost all Greene. On passing plays, mostly LT.

However who did the Jets use on 4th and one before the 2 minute warning? Yup. LT over the top.

LT certainly looks rejuvinated thus far. I think the Jets will ride him for as long as he remains affective. There's no doubt that he's the better all around back. I think Greene will still have some big games, probably later in the year. I think he's an excelent by low candidate if you can afford to stash him on your bench.

They're completely different backs who will (I assume) be used situationally for the foreseeable future. LT obviously gives the O more flexibility on any given down, but Green is clearly the better power/inside runner. From a fantasy standpoint (especially ppr), I'd rather have LT.
