BearBroncos Posted September 24, 2010 Share Posted September 24, 2010 There is allot of talk about Huggins being the next guy but there is a rookie they picked up that might be in the wings that has a better potential than even Huggins. LeGerrette Blount didn't last on the Titans roster. Not because of his performance (well some, Ringer have a better outing) but because of Blounts propensity for violence. Again, Blount punched another team mate during the Titans preseason so the Titans cut their loss. Tampa Bay however was pretty quick to pick the kid up. Blount is a very talented RB and I think most NFL teams recognize that but always a small few are willing to deal with such antics. If the kid can get his head straight, he could be a dominant RB in this league. I figured I'd put this out there since I have seen a Huggins thread in this area and it would be a great debate on who should and will get the starting gig when Caddy is injured (heh, we all know its going to happen). ControlFreak Posted September 25, 2010 Share Posted September 25, 2010 I took a flyer on Huggins in a few leagues with my last pick based on pre-season buzz. The only league I still have him in is a keeper league with a deep bench, but I'm keeping an eye on him for the others. I like his potential but I don't have confidence in the Tampa team situation. They make holes, but they close really fast. Therefore, I personally think the best running backs to succeed in that team will be the fastest. I truly believe that if Cadillac was just a tad faster that he would be tearing it up against opposing defenses. Saying that, we know Graham runs as fast as a slug stuck on flypaper, so I think Huggins is set up better to succeed in yardage. However, Graham can vulture some TD's definitely. Blount probably has the most potential out of Graham and Huggins, but we haven't even seen him active yet in a real game. Right now, if Cadillac goes down, expect Graham to fill in until Blount shows us something in a game or Huggins is 100% from his injury again. Don't forget about Kregg Lumpkin too. He is also in the mix. But I will say this: right now, the backfield in Tampa is wayyyy too crowded to take any chances starting on anyone other than Cadillac, even with his injury prone tendencies. For all the talk of Williams being broke, he got through last year just fine. Anybody is ONE good hit from being done in the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE. Blount looked like a beast (reminded me of Brandon Jacobs from a couple of years ago) in pre-season and I couldn't believe the Titans let him go. It wasn't because he punched somebody; Fisher said he actually liked to see that kind of fire out of him. For some weird reason the Titans kept just CJ and Ringer. They let Sam Gado go also (or maybe he's on the practice squad, I'm too lazy to look it up right now) so apparently they just wanted to go deep in other positions. I think you are on the right track; if you are looking for the deep sleeper RB on the buccaneers, definitely go for Blount.
