genghis
From this thread This is a thread about Torain and there was no mention of it. I don't see the problem.

Popeye
Who would you rather have long term? BGE or Torain? I have been offered Torain for BGE but not sure who has the most upside short and long term.

I have been offered Torain for BGE but not sure who has the most upside short and long term. Torain. BJGE seems like flavor of the week material and they always seem to mix in a few guys somehow (Woodhead being the latest). At least with Torain you have Shanahan's ego that wants this kid to succeed, and that says a lot. Torain has a much higher ceiling IMO. joeyb7
if he's still available in your league it's probably time to find a new league In most 10 team leagues he was nothing more than waiver wire fodder last week..... you only have so much roster space. sowerss
Get this guy, hes getting the entire load with CP delegated to 3rd down back. This could be huge , I am starting him over CP in 2 of my leagues.

theeohiostate
Source please? I've read nothing that stated he would be getting the entire load. He didn't say he would be getting the entire load...........he said he was getting 1st and 2nd downs with CP relegated to a 3rd down row. Marshy
So Portis is definitely only a 3rd down back? I was expecting him to have a good game today, back to the bench.
jdub!
Yes, they said they would move Portis to third-down back. I wouldn't feel comfortable starting Torain or Portis this week.
i_am_the_swammi
I wouldn't feel comfortable starting Torain or Portis this week. Not comfortable, but I'm starting Torain this week out of necessity in my 16-teamer....Eagles can be run on, and I have a feeling it will be a ball control gameplan by Shanny today in Philly. Hoping for 60 yards and a goalline plunge in a 30-13 Eagles win.

I too am holding off for the week....but still hoping that he puts up decent numbers.
Marshy
Managed to get rid of Portis for an improved QB. Flacco + Portis for Matt Ryan. Now Portis will run for 200+ and keep his starting job.

yolkix
Grabbed this guy in 4 of my 6 leagues last week hoping he continues to get the bulk of the carries.
theeohiostate
Clinton Portis said he heard his left groin pop in the third quarter of Sunday's win over the Eagles.Portis immediately went to the trainer's table, stretched himself out and then came back in for the first drive of the fourth quarter. Predictably, he aggravated the injury again and went to the locker room. Portis is set for additional tests on Monday and his availability for Week 5 is in serious doubt. Ryan Torain would be the feature back if Portis sits. Torain might start next week against a Packers Defense that hasn't faced a team that can run the ball since the Eagles in week 1.
