teewhy237
Denver's passing game looked impressive against the Colts. Although they struggled in the redzone, that passing game was shredding the Colts Def. I've never seen so many play action passes where the O-line just floods to one side and Orton throws against to grain to a receiver one on one on the opposite side of the play action. Seemed like a pick-6 waiting to happen every time but Orton was sticking them in there. Sucks so bad that I benched Orton this week in favor of McNabb going against the Rams. Now I need Forte to have a good game tonite to win a game that should already be won.
The Holy Roller
I was impressed and am duly noting.
CaptainHook
Colts always give up a lot of yards to Denver in the air for some reason. Remember Brandon Marshall's 20 catch game last year? Bend but don't break. I don't know why it works so well. They max protect, and only have 3 WR out on routes, but they are wide open, with the Colts playing too far off (kinda reminding me of the SB against the Saints). Bullitt played like crap yesterday giving up a long TD by not defending his area, and blowing a tackle on another long catch and run. Crazysight
So is Orton a legit QB1 this year, or are these numbers simply inflated due to the lack of a running game with Moreno out?
Slugs3511
I think you all have to remember where their coach came from...He was the OC at NE when Brady put up 50 TDS!...... He's never had a good running game, but his passing attack is legit.....Now, NE had it all with a Def too.... But I would say that Orton is definately a starter....He's almost got as many points as Rodgers and Romo....
Bronco Billy
You've got a perfect storm with Orton: 1) A team that will be behind in a lot of games this year, forcing them to pass the ball a lot, 2) An ineffective running game with RBs getting hurt constantly and no one anywhere close to stud status 3) An arrogant coach who loves to show everyone how brilliant he is with his offensive scheming, and who comes from a throw-first background in NE Orton won't throw for a ton of TDs, but as long as he is upright - a caveat since he isn't the most mobile guy and the DEN O-line isn't great - he'll have a lot of attempts and therefore a lot of yards. Orton is 3rd in the league in attempts, 3 behind Romo and 1 behind Manning. The only other caveat is whether Tebow starts making appearances as DEN's season goes down the drain. myhousekey
Not exactly the easiest stretch of games coming up for Orton.. Ranking vs QB Fantasy Points in parentheses @ TEN (2) @ BAL (1) NYJ (22) OAK (8)
BeeR
Orton will have his clunkers and is a low-end (maybe a bit better) starting QB generally, but you could do a lot worse and IMO he's always been underrated by most. He's a solid QB overall.
