shishkabab
when I have friends over that's pretty much all we watch What exactly does Redzone play during the week? Also, does this include the thursday night games? I think my package would include NFL network, which I know will play those games. Well worth the 7 bucks IMO. yolkix
Nice man red zone is a phenomenal program for those of us who cant afford the outrageous sunday ticket!

The 13ers
Nice man red zone is a phenomenal program for those of us who cant afford the outrageous sunday ticket! It's not available on DirecTV as a stand alone, darn it. DirecTV had it last year as a seperate channel to buy, but packaged it up in the big ticket this year. I decided I didn't want to drop the $300 for it. Oh, and FYI, if you get the Sunday ticket, cry poor with their operators. They'll give you a decent discount. Always ask if that's the best they can do... Edited October 1, 2010 by The 13ers
Footballjoe
I upgraded my FIOS and got it for $5 a month but that includes other channels that my wife wanted. I love REDZONE but if the redskins are playing I won't watch it except for commercial breaks.
Rovers
I got it free last year, now they want 45 bucks for it. While I thought it was cool, I've found it got old. You don't get a feel for any games at all. I prefer settling in and watching a game without all the interuptions. Highlights are fine, but it lacks the flow and interest a live game provides. I can track my FF players on FOX and with live scoring on the comp. I'll do that during commercials.

ajfalcone
I agree 100% true. it eliminates having to flip through all the channels. But it wont substitute watching a game from kickoff. Its a spawn from fantasy football enthusiasts and gamblers.

I think the RZC is great if you have a lot going on, and don't have time to sit in front of a PC, or change the channel during commercials. In other words, with a three-day-old baby in the house, I might appreciate the RZC more than ever, this year. If I'm just sitting in front of my TV, watching the games, however, I actually tend to stay away from the RZC, and pick a game or two to watch (flip back and forth between two, instead of 7-8 games like the RZC does). When I have spent an entire Sunday afternoon watching the RZC, I often found myself at the end of the day, feeling like I hadn't really watched ANY games... lots of highlights, but not enough of any one game in particular to feel like I actually had a grasp of what had happened in that game. After Week 1 this year (when I watched primarily the RZC), I actually taped all of the 30-minute recaps on DirecTV, where they show all of the plays of each game, but cut out timeouts, huddle time, etc. I felt like I wanted to actually watch the sequence of events that took place, in the various games... the 30-minute recaps are great, in that sense, but there isn't typically enough time in my week to watch another 7-8 hours of sports, so I have to pick and choose which replays I actually watch. phelle
I typically go with a regular game on the big screen, Yahoo sports on the computer (to keep up with all of my players), and RZC on my Verizon Droid X phone. I don't keep the RZC up all the time on the phone, but whenever I see one of my players makes it into the RZ I turn it on on my phone. I've heard people have still talked directv into adding the RZC to their lineup for free. You need to be not under contract, not already signed up for ST, and call and tell them you are going to switch to cable because you just want the RZC. Patriots
I watch the game(s) that are on TV and then I flip to the redzone channel on commercials or if someone on my team is in the redzone. Redzone is good for the end of the games because they will show game winning drives, OT, etc.
The Next Generation
I watch with a split screen (65" HDTV). I have the local game really big on the left and the Red Zone channel smaller screen on the right. It's a beautiful thing to watch all of your fantasy players score their TDs! It's a beautiful thing to watch all of your fantasy players score their TDs! I have tried that and it just makes me crazy. Now all I do is flip to it when the commercials are on during the Steeler games and then watch it if the second game is not one that I am really into. I am hooked though. Tripleshot
Now all I do is flip to it when the commercials are on during the Seahawk games and then watch it if the second game is not one that I am really into. I am hooked though. ^^ Unless there's a good game on that I want to watch the whole time, mainly Packers/Seahawks or good matchup, I'll watch Red Zone. I do like to watch a whole game and get the feel of it, but let's be honest, I'm West Coast and get quite a few Raider games as regional broadcasts(ugh). I used to not have problems with the many commercial breaks, play reviews, time outs, etc. but after watching Red Zone I feel like a junky now, needing constant information when my primary games are at commercial break, lol.
