as per PFT: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...injured-to-out/

Giants defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka didn't appear on the Wednesday or Thursday edition of the injury report. On Friday, he also didn't appear on the initial injury report.

But Kiwanuka appears as out with a neck injury on the team's updated injury report.

He's out even though he fully participated in practice on Friday.

Also out for the Giants in the Sunday night game on NBC is tackle Will Beatty (foot) and center Shaun O'Hara (ankle/Achilles). Linebacker Keith Bulluck is doubtful with a toe injury.

Questionable for the Giants are defensive tackle Rocky Bernard (back) and defensive end Osi Umenyiora (knee). Linebacker Chase Blackburn (knee), linebacker Phillip Dillard (hamstring), receiver Mario Manningham (concussion), and kick returner Darius Reynaud (illness) are probable.

The absence of Kiwanuka and the potential absence of Umenyiora is good news for the Bears, who again will be missing tackle Chris Williams with a hamstring injury. Safety Major Wright also is out, due to a hamstring injury.

Guard Roberto Garza (knee), safety Chris Harris (neck), and defensive end Israel Idonije (foot) are probable.

I have read that Kiwanku is lost for a couple months or even the entire year do his neck injury that may be similar to Antonio Pierce's last season.

(KFFL) New York Giants DE Mathias Kiwanuka (neck) could miss as much as two to three months because of a bulging disc but a second opinion could chance the timetable, reports ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Kiwanuka underwent an MRI Thursday, Sept. 30, which showed the injury.

(RotoWire) The Giants are bracing for a worst-case scenario of Kiwanuka (neck) missing two to three months and perhaps the rest of the season, ESPN.com's Chris Mortensen reports.

Analysis: Kiwanuka and the Giants will continue to evaluate their options and seek other opinions, so there's still hope that treatment will allow Kiwanuka to return sooner than expected. However, the situation seems similar to the injury former Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce suffered in October 2009 that kept him out for the rest of the season.
