budlitebrad
Only in Philly would you hear fans boo McNabb and cheer Vick.

Shorttynaz
I didn't watch anything pre-game, but when McNabb took the field in the first quarter, (on TV) I heard quite a few boo's!

matt770
I didn't watch anything pre-game, but when McNabb took the field in the first quarter, (on TV) I heard quite a few boo's! Classic Philly. The pregame standing O: "Hey McNabb, thanks for everything, you didn't deliver the trophy but we have to begrudgingly admit that you're the best QB we've ever had and it's as much Andy's fault for not bringing in good receivers those first few years. You did choke in the Super Bowl but if we don't stand here and clap, everyone will say we have no class as usual." Boos when he took the field: "You play for the other team so f*ck you!!!!!!!" Pip's Invitation
It didn't help that when he first stepped on the field, the Eagles had just yielded a long punt return. Some of the boos were for that, some were for seeing McNabb in an opponent's uniform.
The Next Generation
Classic Philly. If by Classic Philly you mean great sports fans, then I agree. Fact is, they gave him a standing O to thank him for being a great Eagle player for all those years. They booed him for being the starting QB of a division rival. Exactly what they should have done. Why on Earth would you want to cheer for someone on a division rival? savvy fans who did exactly the right thing. Damned if they did, damned if they didn't. Seems to me that the fans handled it exactly as it should have been handled.

He got credit when it was due (before the game), and he was the object of our scorn throughout the game. Serious, what do you expect? matt770
If by Classic Philly you mean great sports fans, then I agree. That is what I meant as a matter of fact. I've been to a good number of Eagles, Phillies and Flyers games so I know first hand -- they are tough, knowledgeable and passionate, and they take no BS. Very defensive about their city and their reputation as fans, deserved or not. I had a good laugh at the boos because it was so typical. They always let you know how they feel. Hugh-mongus
I'm sure the national media was quite disappointed with the Philly fans' reactions. "Dang it, they were supposed to boo him! OK, now how can we spin this standing ovation to make them look bad?"
