theeohiostate
Took this off another forum from a guy with a source in Seattle. He broke the story of the Lynch deal several hours before anyone knew about it, so I think there is some substance to the report. Posted by MarcO Hearing rumors from a inside source at Vulcan, but they are very distant from the football side of the business. Something to watch anyway... Same source of the Lynch trade says they are working on a deal for Vincent Jackson. Must caution that this is by no means a done deal, - The word I got on the Lynch deal was that it was confirmed, but this is still very much a "trying to work a deal". Don't know if this means w/ the Chargers or on Jackson's contract. Personally, I have a hard time thinking this is going to happen - but it could, as Seattle still has close to a full compliment of draft picks to deal with (minus a 3rd rounder) in 2011. Again, my opinion but it seems that maybe the Hawks see that the NFC West is theirs for the taking if they can get Hass some waepons - maybe they're going to go for it in 2010. Normally wouldn't put this out there this soon, but if you're in the mood to gamble you may be able to either get him very cheaply right now or pick him of the wire if available. JUMbotron
The media loves a good conspiracy theory... Yeah I'm not buying this one. Seattle is without a 3rd and 4th in 2011 because of Lynch and Charlie Whitehurst. They don't have the ammo to get VJ. San Diego's not going to accept a bunch of 2012 picks. Brentastic
Vjax has to be headed to NE, right? They have plenty of picks to send and they need a big physical WR to stretch the defenses and give Welker and co. room underneath.

Well, nobody heard anything about Lynch to Seattle and that happened. Just saying, seems like most trades (except the Moss deal) happen with teams you don't hear about. We've heard the Seattle Vjax rumor but maybe he goes to NE - kinda like we heard Lynch to GB then boom, he goes to Seattle.
BearBroncos
I honestly think someone jumps on VJax before the trade deadline. VJax has already made concessions on his own asking price, willing to take a 1 year contract at 6 million so the only other contention would be San Diego. Some might feel he's worth it while others don't. I really do think he will end up in NE though. Fortunately, NE has their bye week the the week that this happens so they have plenty of time get a player acclimated, if needed

Agree to a degree about rumors - here the rumor was Lynch was coming to Philly - local news was even running a scroll the Philly had contacted Buffalo

Brentastic
Sorry, but I don't see a playoff-caliber team like SD sending a top WR to their playoff nemesis. So as a multi-million (billion?) dollar organization they won't acquire much desired draft picks because another team could become better? From a business perspective, that's really dumb. Not saying you're wrong but this spiteful behavior by SD is immature and stupid from a business standpoint. They've already moved on without this guy and now they're going to reject draft picks to play mind games? The owner needs to slap AJ in the frocking face until he understands his role. This might end up being the most laughed about situation of an NFL team in quite awhile. This is even worse than forgetting to draft when it's your team because this is intentional. They intentionally don't want to improve their team so they can prove a point - wow.

Also, this is the kind of thing I could totally see AJ avoid just because this is the Pats. These teams have a history over the past few seasons. AJ wouldn't budge on his asking price for V-Jax, so I also don't think he will trade him to a conf. rival. When trade talks were in the works a few weeks back AJ specifically stated that if V-Jax were traded it would be to an out of conf. team. murp0837
Seatle has a few good, young receivers. I don't think they would make a play for Jackson. That being said, if this is true, it really hurts Jackson's FF owners. Hasselback is not a good QB, so Jackson would be a high-WR3 in most leagues (IMHO). I honestly believe that New England will make a play for Jackson or Steve Smith (Carolina). The Moss trade set established the currency for top-tier receivers. If A.J. is seeking anything more than a 3rd rounder, then he's crazy. Moss is a better receiver, despite being older. It may be worth stashing Jackson until 10/19 just to see what is going to happen. If he isn't traded, he won't be playing football this year.
