Popeye
Nance chance this week? McCarthy was reluctant to play recently signed halfback Dimitri Nance in his first three games with the Packers because he didn’t know the Packers’ offense well enough, but Nance appears to have a good enough grasp to play in most game situations if called upon this week at Washington. Nance, signed off Atlanta’s practice squad after Week 1, had two carries for six yards in the Packers’ blowout win over Buffalo, then was inactive the following week at Chicago and played only on special teams last week against Detroit. John Kuhn and Brandon Jackson are the only other halfbacks on the roster, and the Packers figure to take a look at Nance soon to see if he can contribute or even become their primary halfback. The biggest concern with a new running back is whether he knows the blocking schemes for blitz pick ups. Edgar Bennett, the Packers’ running backs coach, said Nance now has a good understanding of most of the playbook in that regard. “He’ll be ready,” Bennett said. Puddy
Too early to consider him as a free agent but it was a little nugget of information like this on The Huddle several years ago that got me to pick up Dominick Davis of the Texans before he went nuts for a couple of years. muck
I acquired Nance two or three weeks ago and added Starks today.
Popeye
I acquired Nance two or three weeks ago and added Starks today. Starks went a few weeks ago in my local but I did get Dimitri Nance. Hopefully he gets a shot in the backfield.

How much room do you guys have on your rosters to stash guys like that?
Popeye
How much room do you guys have on your rosters to stash guys like that? Ours is a 20 man roster...pickings get slim so you grab what you can when you can.
darin3
Now, if one were to have the opportunity to pick up either Nance or Starks, what would your preference be? I'm saying it's Starks.

Starks. By a lot. Regardless, I think Kuhn should and will be the short yardage/goal line back.
