Brentastic
Anyone else notice the tourette-like twitch that Chris Johnson has? Any homers know if this is new or has he always had it? I just feel bad for him, I know it's annoying for him. Never noticed it until this season.
EastCarolinaJet
He had a pretty big neck surgery while at East Carolina, and it's stuck with him. It gets worse when he's nervous, which was always the case early in his career. During college and his first year of pro ball he was still very anxious when speaking in public. Obviously, he's come out of his shell ever since lol...but the twitch will always be there.

EastCarolinaJet
Thanks for the info. I just feel for him but it sounds like he's come a long way with it. He really has. He originally had offers from the U and pretty much every other big time college in Florida at the least (where he's originally from). Ended up at ECU after an injury his senior year...which I want to say was the neck injury. I do know that at one point there was doubt as if he'd ever play again. Absolutely insane he's come this far.
PPIchamp
I noticed it, mentioned it in another thread earlier tonight actually. Ticks come out in anxious/nervous situations usually, it's a trait of obsessive-compulsive disorder. I doubt the neck surgery is what brought on the twitch, but it's possible (none of us know if the surgery created strange/uncomfortable feelings in his neck), it's likely from dealing with those dredlocks. It may do him good to get rid of them.

And no, he's not obsessive-compulsive, lol.
yolkix
I noticed this as well and it kinda reminded me of myself haha. Since about 7th grade I always had a neck twitch that i constantly had to do, even more so when I was in a pressure situation. I played basketball up through high school and my senior year heard some pretty ridiculous things from opposing players and fans so I kinda know how CJ might feel with it. I remember a game were I was at the foul line against a rival of ours and the fans chatning "twitch, twitch, twitch!" or "neeeccck brace" lmao. Honestly i just thought it was all funny and flattering cause not like there was anything I could do about having the twitch haha
