Menudo
Offensive line has been the Steelers biggest weakness over the last 3 years. Even the year they won their Super Bowl, the offensive line was well below average. This year, prior to the season, arguably our best offensive lineman, Right Tackle Willie Colon was injured and placed on I/R. We brought in Flozell Adams to replace him, and that has worked out decently well. Rookie center Maurkice Pouncey has been phenomenal and the offensive line has started to play better, still not great, but, probably moving closer to average. Now, starting left tackle Max Starks has been placed on I/R. Starks has been playing extremely well, and this injury is really going to hurt. Cohesiveness is very important on the O-Line and all of these injures (Keomautu & Essex have also both missed time with injuries) are going to cause major problems. Starks injury is very concerning, and the Steelers offense, which wasn't all that impressive Monday night, may take a step backwards. MTSuper7
Starks' injury probably hurts the passing game more than the running game, correct?
Menudo
Starks' injury probably hurts the passing game more than the running game, correct? A little of both, but, definitely more of a hit to the passing game.
yoda83
yeah this definitely hurts PIT. however, you could argue roethlisberger is the best qb to have behind a shaky o-line... i still remember that last drive against arizona in the SB. Cy_Hawk
According to Steeler fans I know, Scott, the guy who replaced Starks @ LT is a better run blocker...fwiw. As a Mendy owner, I'm just looking for any kind of positive out of this. Edited November 10, 2010 by Cy_Hawk

Whiskey Pimp
SB1 was in January 1967. I was waiting for this or something about the teams never played against each other or something else along those lines from you.
yoda83
He didn't look all that good against the Saints. he didn't look all that good at various points during that SB year (all the way back in '08 ), but he still showed he could deal w/ a collapsing pocket better than most QBs... and he's done it plenty of other times. i didn't see much of the saints game, but i would imagine he's still working off a little rust. he would still be my #1 or #2 choice if i knew my OL was going to be in disarray. Skilly
Yeah, that sucks. Pitt will probably only win 13 games now on their way to the SB.
