historymike
Dear DeAngelo: What started out as a promising relationship has turned sour and into a tough decision for me. Yes, you have incredible talent, but you have been banged up for weeks now, and your O-line is downright frightening. Meanwhile, with my team looking like a hospice unit, I can no longer afford to continue our association. I have met another running back on the waiver wire, and his name is Shonn Greene. Wait - I know what you are going to say: "He doesn't love you the way I do, and he has never played a full season as a starter, and he's never been an All-Pro, let alone a Pro-Bowl selection. And what about that Panthers season rushing yardage record, or my career 5.1 YPC? Doesn't that mean anything to you?" Listen: we can still be friends, OK? It's not like I hate you or anything; I just need a running back who can, you know, meet my playoff needs. It looks like you will really won't be back to speed until just about playoff time, and with the likes of Jimmy Claussen and Tony Pike guiding the Panthers offense, I suspect that your FF playoff value will be diminished. And face it: I have a much better chance of Shonn Greene growing into a true RB1 than I do of you being even an RB2 the rest of the way. And look: one of the other owners is bound to snag you by the weekend. Maybe you would be happier being a backup to a player like Arian Foster or Rashard Mendenhall; who knows? Anyways, no hard feelings, and good luck. Just don't call me anymore, OK?

MikesVikes
Your opponent might have him in his lineup someday. He might seek revenge. But then again, maybe not. Edited November 11, 2010 by MikesVikes
Jenkinssssss
tough league you got there if greene is on the WW.
historymike
tough league you got there if greene is on the WW. Well, the league is competitive, but I agree that this was not a well-considered move, Jenkinssssss. The owner was desperate with bye week and injury problems to his WRs, and he dumped Greene late Sunday hoping that no one would notice.
