Week 10 JUMbotron

I should have put "should be rioting" in this thread's sub-header... oh well.

Actually, after Denver loses to KC and SD in the next two weeks this thread title might be prove to be prophetic, lol.

I think the offense will start to struggle and losing so badly, Tewbow will come in and get the Broncos at least close. That will silence skeptics having Tewbow as the starter, even though, I think it would be more harmful starting him now versus maybe early next year when he has more protection (at least I hope).

Wow, McDaniels actually does have some fans under a spell of some sort

That's what I was getting at. Re-read the part about all these trades. He's out of control. Josh is trying so hard to be Belichickian, with the "OK, you're gone, and you're gone, swap him, stockpile picks, trade away picks" - it's a complete mockery in my opinion. Somebody make this kid go away. He's burying a storied franchise. Tebow?? I can't believe Pat Bowlen didn't step in.

Speaking of Bowlen, here's an interesting article.

Disturbing to some of us. I don't see how anyone can support what he is doing. The team is noticably weaker than when he took over and appears to be headed in the wrong direction. Talented players were sent packing because of nothing other than they were Shanahan guys. There is no rushing offense. The D is comprised largely of players who either are well past their prime or whose prime is well short of what would be considered a starter on most other teams in the league - with the exceptions of DJ WIlliams, Champ Bailey, and the injured Elvis Dumervil. You watch the O plays unfold and you see schemes that ask players to do something that they simply can not physically accomplish. You watch the D players decidedly out of position in many instances. He has drafted what he considered 5 first round players in his two drafts so far. Where are those guys? First rounders need to be on the field helping a weak team immediately. Instead 4 of them contribute next to nothing and the other was sent packing for a TE whose only claim to fame is that he has 2 brothers in the league. And the player he sent packing? He has as many INTs with DET as the entire Denver D so far.

Now we've got KC coming in? The leading rushing team in the NFL right now? Great. McDaniels' Broncos at home vs the AFC West so far: 0-4, losing by an average of 24 points per game, and giving up an average of over 272 yards rushing per game. At home.

I must admit, Tewbow in the first round?? I couldn't quite grasp that move but I figured I'd let it play out and see. His picks haven't been stellar, but also haven't been Raideresk. Granted, the Raiders had a nice draft for the first time in X amount of years.

Yep... actually doormats like Oakland, Detroit, and Cleveland have been outdrafting Denver for two years straight.

I agree with you Addai assesment, I have him in 2 leagues and this news sucks. I also heard on a Sirius station (forgot which one as I flip through them) that a doctor said that injury really has no timetable. The more the nerves got stretched out, the more the recovery. He also said that, it is an injury that will need to heal close to 100% before coming back.

You mentioned Hart might have a high ankle sprain which seems about right. He is still not practicing. On average, how long do RBs with high ankle sprains usually sit for? I have a feeling 2 more weeks.

I liked the 'perspective' comment.

You cited Ronnie Brown but the example that has always stayed at the forefront of my mind is Leonard Little. Drafted in 1998, All-Pro/Pro Bowl in 2003, 11 years in the NFL. 4 of those years he was on probation for a DUI manslaughter conviction. That's usually at least a few years in jail but there he was winning a Super Bowl. Oh, and he was busted again for DWI in 2004.

I had no clue until you posted that but I figured it deserved its own thread http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=341061

edit:  i missed your thread in this forum about it but I guess it can't hurt to have a thread on this in the IDP forum too.

from my article:

Eagles TE Brent Celek is the worst kind of fantasy bust because he is healthy. He keeps on playing week after week, with enough production every so often to keep fantasy owners chasing the bait. At least DeAngelo Williams finally euthanized himself with the sprained foot so we could free ourselves from the weekly torture. So you Celek-owners, I'm almost terrified to tell you he had a 56-yard TD negated by a penalty vs. the Colts.

from Phillyburbs.com today:

"With just 21 catches and two touchdowns in eight games, Celek is on pace to fall well short of the career-high 76 receptions and eight TDs he had a year ago. Celek had to block more with Dwight Freeney rushing at Vick's blind side in last week's win over the Colts, when Celek didn't catch a pass but did have a 56-yard TD grab negated by a holding penalty. 'I think that kind of goes in cycles,' Reid said. 'I'm not saying the blocking part, but just receptions, and he's going to get plenty of receptions as we go. It's what the coverages are and how people are using them, and then how we're using them.'"

I can't let go of the idea that Celek will break out. Disclaimer: I don't own him, but I did last year and I am still biased. I think Celek is a top-5 talent.
