MTSuper7
Ok, so I felt like tooting my own horn a little, but I wanted to gauge just how active Huddlers are in improving their teams when the draft goes wrong and/or injuries strike. I think I've outdone myself this season... In my main local this year, I managed to turn this (bolded players are the ones who I dumped / added):: QB: Romo, Cutler RB: DeAngelo Williams, Pierre Thomas, Matt Forte, Marion Barber, Donald Brown WR: Randy Moss, Hakeem Nicks, Santana Moss, Santonio Holmes, Laurent Robinson TE: John Carlson, Fred Davis Into this: QB: Orton, Shaun Hill RB: Felix Jones, Fred Jackson, Torain/K. Williams, Shonn Greene, LeGarrette Blount WR: Andre Johnson, Hakeem Nicks, Santana Moss, Santonio Holmes, Louis Murphy, Seyi Ajirotutu TE: Marcedes Lewis, Jacob Tamme I drafted crap in the first three rounds: (Randy Moss, DeAngelo Williams, Pierre Thomas), and crap at RB across the board. I've churned my entire RB corps. My team was so bad that only three of the original players I drafted are still on my roster (Nicks, S. Moss, and Santonio Holmes). Somehow, I'm 6-4, division leader, and total points leader (by a wide margin). I find myself playing matchups with my wide variety of 2nd rate RBs, and it has worked for the most part. All I need are two good matchups amongst this motley crew and I'm good. What sort of magic have you all been able to spin on your dying rosters? moopyjiggles
we have a bid system with $1000 . I got tamme for $1 as soon as Clark went down. I also got James Jones for $1 and started him his career week.
dbforbes
In 2008, I had numerous excellent RBs, including that I can recall rookie Chris Johnson (11th round), Clinton Portis (2nd or 3rd round) and at least one other stud. But I had Brady (1st round mistake) as my QB - and we know how that turned out - and a sad backup (can't for the life of me remember who it was). When he started the first couple of weeks on fire, I traded Clinton Portis for Jay Cutler. Prior to the trade I lost all but one of my games. Sure enough, true to form, Portis collapsed from a fantasy standpoint later in the year, but I still managed to get to the championship riding on the tail of Cutler and the essentially RB-less Broncos offense. To get to the championship, sure enough, I got the opportunity to trounce the Portis owner. May not seem like much, but boy it felt swell. i_am_the_swammi
4-5 years ago, I added rookie Julius Jones to a mediocre team, and he alone carried me to a championship. Julius Jones
MustOfBeenDrunk
Derick Mason for Colston ( his rookie year ) The league tried to veto the trade because I was trading Mason for an unproven rooking ( dynasty league ) I took 1st. place and that trade is still used as a reference when ever someone wants to veto what looks like a uneven trade
cre8tiff
Picked up some unknown backup QB named Kurt Warner to fill my backup slot after Trent Green went down in 1999.

muck
YEARS ago, in my very long-time quasi-dynasty league, career ending injuries had completely gutted my team. The only player I had left was Lamont Jordan after his rookie year. Back then, some still had real high hopes for him. I was able to parlay him into Stephen Davis (one year before he fell off a cliff) and a WR or two ... who I was then able to trade (after having made a couple of decent waiver wire moves) ... and by the start of the second season after my team was gutted, I was able to be competitive again. Tripleshot
In 1998 I started 0-2(and horribly) in one of my STATS fantasy football leagues, which gave me first shot for free agents the first two weeks. I grabbed Fred Taylor(his rookie year) and Randall Cunningham(Moss's rookie year and Cunningham's one huge season with the VIkings) and didn't lose the rest of the season. Sunday Couch Potatoe
Warner pick up in 99 brought me to a championship( Faulk wasn't bad either) Then to top it off picked warner up the day they named him starter when there was no word a couple years ago whether Warner or Leinart would start before our draft. Needless to say I love me some Warner as he was a huge reason for me winning championships in both of those years!! Kurt where have you gone my teams suck without you Edited November 18, 2010 by Sunday Couch Potatoe
montster
Picked up some unknown backup QB named Kurt Warner to fill my backup slot after Trent Green went down in 1999. We had a 10-team work league. The lowest scorer from week 1 got first waiver pick. I had the second-lowest score. My opponent had the lowest. He grabbed Warner and coasted. Never have I regretted a win so much. I won the following year without making a single waiver move all season.
Chargerz
I got Vick in one league this year for $10 in week #2. That turned out to be a good investment.
Ramhock
Last year in a TD only league, picked up NO D. We get a pick after weeks 3, 6 & 9. Don't have to drop anyone & these are the only waiver activity, anything else needs to be a trade. Picked them after week 6. Rarely does anyone bother with a 2nd D, because in TD only, there is more luck involved. I was extremely lucky after that.

ffb
First time playing and took over my 12 year old cousin's team who doesn't care about football and only played to make the league even. I didn't want to play at first, but now I'm hooked. The team after the draft: QB: P. Manning, Ryan WR: Lloyd, Bowe, Marshall, Crotchery, Holmes RB: Gore, Benson, Bush, Jones TE: Celek DEF: MIA, NYG Free Agency Pickups: Vick (twice) Roethlisberger Hilis Mcfadden Blount Tamme Trades: Peterson for Gore Jennings for Lloyd Nicks for Mcfadden Jackson for Blount MJD for Roethlisberger/Benson Trade deadline is this week and the trades I'm working for: Hilis, Marshall, Harvin for Chris Johnson (other team WR: Boldin, Hester, Smith (CAR)) Manning, Jennings, Manningham for White, Schaub (other team WR, QB: White, Collie, Crabtree, Rice, Schaub, Flacco) Edited November 18, 2010 by ffb
The Next Generation
I've never had a crappy team. But, the best waiver wire move I ever made was grabbing Kurt Warner right after Trent Green got hurt for the Rams in preseason. We had just drafted and then Green went down. I immediately snatched Warner off of the waiver wire and destroyed the league that year and the next (1 player keeper league)
MTSuper7
16-team dynasty PPR... I traded away all my players from last year with 2010 1.02 + 2.02, all of next years draft picks, and all my league FA 'cash' and went from: QB: Rivers RB: Forte, Mendenhall WR: Bowe, Kevin Walter, Jacoby Jones, James Jones TE: Cooley, Scaife to this: QB: Schaub, Cassel RB: Gore, MJD WR: Miles Austin, Roddy White, Brandon Lloyd TE: Witten, Winslow Some in my league are still pissed at me for pulling this off *cough*electricrelish*cough* I forgot you had Forte originally... It's amazing looking at your WRs from last year. Mortgaged your future big time, but holy crap dude! Just remember, you had Arian Foster last year too.
