This pretty much summerizes the aritcle

"Hill is biased. But the truth is that Boise State needs him to speak out. The strategy of playing on Friday night to gain national attention isn't working"

genius rocker, not much gets by you does it?

no chit,of course Hill is biased towards a WAC team - that being said, pretty strong statements from a respected coach who has gone into enemy territroy frequently and played against some great teams and just suffered an absolute beatdown unlike anything in a long time.

Define a long time?

Weren't they crushed 61-10 by Boise a two seasons ago? Wonder what makes this slaughter even more impressive.

How it went down? That the were held to 125 or so yards and that half of those came late in the 4th. In 08 it was 13-10 at the half, in this game it was 20-0. Things like that. Surely you're not implying that one can tell everything from the score, are you?

Just not as impressed with Fresno State's football program as Wildcat.

Why do you need to be impressed with FSU? That doesn't change the fact that this coach has taken his team up against no shortage of strong BCS programs over the years and says this BSU team is as good or better than any. So, dude has first hand knowledge. Obviously they're not good this year, they just got eviscerated 51-0. Even if BSU is the best team in the country, no decent team let's that happen. I don't believe whether or not FSU is good was a point of contention here.

Then why post this article if it's just another WAC coach thinking his conference champions is pretty good and that is newsworthy?

Because it doesn't appear to be "another WAC coach thinking his conference champ is pretty good". It's a WAC coach who has made a name for taking on any team anywhere saying this particular BSU team is better than anyone he's played.

Sure there could certainly be some homerism in there but he also has a unique perspective that does merit attention.

You're joking, right?

OK, so this year they only played Ole Miss (the same Ole Miss team that was pointed to as being some worthy victory for both LSU and Auburn in this very forum)

Last year they played 2 Big 10 teams and the Big East Champ Cinci. Losing to Wisconsin in 2OT

The year before, they again barely lost to Wisconsin and also played UCLA and Rutgers

Before that, A&M, Oregon, and K-State

Before that, Oregon, UW, and LSU

Before that, losing by 8 to USC the year they played Texas in the great game and by 3 to an Oregon team that finished #12

I don't know, I think he's seen some good teams.

Granted he lost to some pretty good teams, but I really don't see how that makes his opinion any more valuable than say a coach from a weak BCS team or even say LA Tech who has been known to take on some fairly decent ooc opponents.

Let's face it, Fresno use to be considered a tough out years ago, but not anymore.

Be nice if Boise took the Pat Hill approach to scheduling, but they would want to play all of those BCS road games on neutral fields probably. The reason is Boise loses when they do. Fresno plays on the road against anyone they can find. They lose more often than not, but it's certainly more admirable to demanding to play either at home or on a neutral field, or "GIVE ME A MILLION BUCKS". As for Pat Hill's comments, what exactly would you EXPECT him to say? He's the WAC's ambassador. Of course he's going to say something like that. Not a whole lot different than Lou Holtz hyping up Navy before Notre Dame would slaughter them. Means nothing.

Rocker, Fresno's win-loss record isn't impressive, but they play anyone that will sign the contract and on any field, which is more than I can say about Boise State.

Wow, let it rest. Your comments get weaker with every post. The truth is nobody wants to play Boise State, home, away or on a neutral field.
