KOKIDKOKID
Just heard it is a fractured hip.....Yikes. Bo Jackson anyone? KO'd
jbran23
He was able to walk and everything and even came back into the game for a few more runs but this guy is reporting not more than 2 hours after the game that he is done for the year? Sounds like BS to me.
jdub!
Frank Gore was seen walking gingerly and left the stadium on crutches following Monday's Week 12 win over Arizona.

jbran23
I retract my previous statement of it being BS. Reading the same thing on ESPN. Un-freaking-believable. How the hell did he fracture his hip in the first place? He came up lame on a toss to the outside where he was running and then just kind of layed down untouched. Then he walks to the locker room with barely a limp and is able to return and even run a few plays. I just dont get it. How is that even possible with a fractured hip? jdub!
Gore's season likely over : RB Frank Gore has been diagnosed with a fractured right hip and his season is likely over, according to the 49ers. Gore was injured during San Francisco's opening drive in Week 12 against the Cardinals. He was taken to the locker room by trainers, but was able to return on the 49ers next offensive possession. However, Gore took himself back out of the game after just one carry and did not return in the 27-6 win. (Updated 11/30/2010) OK, I'm done pasting news. Get well soon, Frank. Probably a hairline fracture (possibly a spiral fracture) of his femur....I had one myself about 12 years ago from an awkward fall that I took. Hurt but it wasn't unbearbale and I am not an athlete like Gore....no doubt though - he can't play ball at all even if it's only a hairline or spiral fracture. jdub!
The question now is: Who will step up to be the lead back on the Niners? Westbrook has a crazy injury history. He's smaller than most backs, and in my opinion would better service as the third down back in a split-share with Dixon. Dixon is big and slow in my opinion. Great goalline back, but can he produce in the open field? Can he break a big run? I just went and picked up Westbrook, but this situation has all the makings of a true RBBC, as both backs are polar opposites of each other. Edited November 30, 2010 by jdub! Just Saying. i am not saying that the guy hasn't gotten injured, but he has had: 240 carries in 06 278 in 07 233 in 08 ...... and killed in 09 with 61. he's a little older, but might last a little longer due to sharing the load edit: and don't forget his role in the passing game: 04= 73 rec 05= 61 rec 06= 77 rec 07= 90 rec 08= 54 rec 09= 25 rec in his shortened season Edited November 30, 2010 by Bier Meister

Bier Meister
To have a role in the passing game, you first have to have a passing game. it's coming around..... tonight they went with the "if it aint broke don't fix it" approach. i wouldn't be surprised to see them use some rb screens in the next few games. We dont need to look any further then this threads contents. I love Westbrook's talent dont get me wrong. Those numbers are a tall order best keep this realistic but who knows. He didnt get many screen pass today so im not sure how much that will or wont be a part of the 49ers game. Honesty Correct me if im wrong but even in philly Westbrook wasnt an every down back esp in the last two or three seasons with philly. So injuries haven't been so much to do with work load but rather a tendency to get injured. I'm certain he will be one of the big picks this week. Bier Meister
he came in sharing with staley. hen shared with levens/moats. then started getting the bulk around 05 (still a committee). 06 he was getting 3:1. with buckhalter. 07 it was at 4:1 with buckhalter. 08 it was a little over 3:1........ this is only carries, not including the rec. as mentioned, i just think that az was so vulnerable on the ground there was no need to pass much tonight. Bier Meister
don't get me wrong....i don't think he'll be ff moses, only that for 3 seasons (06-08) he did not miss very much time.
Seahawk
Well here's too hoping I get him on the wire and he plays great. Either way I'd love to see him succeed but I can't pretend that i'm not just a little bit concern with his recent history. Concussions are a tricky thing.
