Grits and Shins
For many leagues week 13 is the final week of the regular season. If you are a bubble team what do you need to happen in week 13 to make the playoffs? It has been a struggle for me all year long in my local league and I've finally scrapped my way to 6-6. Unfortunately there are 4 other 6-6 teams and all of us are competing for just 1 wildcard spot. To make matters worse I have lost H2H with 3 out of the 4 teams at 6-6. Fortunately two of the 6-6 teams play each other and I have H2H on one of these teams ... so this is what I need to make the playoffs: 1) I must win my game 2) The one 6-6 team that I have H2H advantage over must win his game (eliminating one of the other 6-6 teams) 3) The other 6-6 team must lose It is an uphill climb ... anybody other bubble teams out there have a harder hill to climb than that? Tripleshot
I'm 10-2 sitting in the catbird's seat. I've got the top playoff seed all sewn up. What I need now is to quit wasting tons of points in meaningless weeks(week 12 and 13). Last year I was in the same damn position only to have my studs all take a collective dump on me leaving me out of the playoffs with a wimper in the first round. SheikYerbuti
League 1 - Clinched the regular season championship this week, but still playing for the total points prize. I'm currently in 2nd about 40 points behind the guy in 1st. Don't like my chances but at least it means Week 13 isn't meaningless. League 2 - I win next week, I win the regular season. If I lose, it depends on what about 5 other teams do. League 3 - If I win next week I'll take 3rd place for the regular season (my buy-in back). If I lose, looks like I'll be in the playoffs anyway, but no regular season cash. League 4 - I've been eliminated for weeks, which is funny because I'm most likely going to be the points scored leader. No prize for it, just aggravation. LosGatosEnFuegos
anybody other bubble teams out there have a harder hill to climb than that? I think I beat that. Despite scoring decently in my local, I've been on the receiving end of some bad luck. However, due to our (IMO stupid) 3 division setup (1 playoff berth/division + 3 wildcards for next best records regardless of division), I'm still not statistically eliminated despite having a 4-8 record and currently being in 3rd place in a 4 team division. This is the last week of the regular season, and it's a double header. I play our division leader who's 6-6 + another non-divisional game. I need: 1 - To beat the division leader 2 - To win my other game 3 - The division leader to lose his other game 4 - The second place team in my division to lose at least one game (she's 5-7 after I eeked out a .5pt victory tonight) If this all happens, I will tie the division leader in overall record, divisional record, and head-to-head matchups. I currently have a 6 point lead in Points For, our next tiebreaker, so I'll win based on that. The 2nd place team has a 1-4 divisional record, so I win out there if she loses one of her two games. This is why I hate divisions.
buddahj
In one league, I need to win this week by more than 22 pts. If I win by less than 22 pts, I need the guy who's sitting @ 8-6 (with a double header this week) to lose both games & I'll end up with the no. 6 seed. timmyt32175
League 4 - I've been eliminated for weeks, which is funny because I'm most likely going to be the points scored leader. No prize for it, just aggravation. tell me about it!! i am 4-8 and have the 2nd most points scored but the highest scored against.....2 years in a row this has happend to me!! I can sneak into the last playoff spot with a win and a loss by the team in front of me. I hate this game and love it all at the same time! MTSuper7
I actually have very little riding on week 13 for a change. I have a first round bye locked up in one league already, in a second league I can get a first round bye with a win most likely (barring a total points meltdown), and in a third league I can lock up the #1 overall seed with a win over one of the worst teams in the league (I'm no worse than the 3rd seed in that league if I lose). In the other two leagues, I was officially eliminated from playoff contention this past weekend. Fortunately the three leagues that I'm in the playoffs are the three with the highest buy-in. osu1322
well I lost this week due to starting Vjax and him gettin me a goose egg... (although I'm not 100% sure I'd have won with someone else in....) Anyway I'm tied for division lead but am sitting in second due to tiebreakers (he's 5-1 div record and I'm 4-2....) I however get to play the worst team in my leauge (i think he's 3-9..) and the other guy I'm tied with is playing the best overall record of the season.... So if he loses and I win then i'm golden for the Division win. Also the other 2 teams in my division are both a game back (they r 6-6 and we r at 7-5) but with them playing each other there could potentially be a 3 way tie for our division with our division records being the breaker lol

So one of our division winners that goes to the playoffs will have a record of 6-7 or 5-
keggerz
All IDP leagues Leaugue (current record): scenarios League 1(11-1): nothing already clinched and have a bye in wk 14 League 2(7-5): Win and need 1 team to lose or lose and need that same team to lose...if it ends that the guy I have a tie breaker with wins his division I will lose the WC to the guy currently leading his division League 3(14-2): Have a bye and don't play til week 14 League 4(9-3): Playoff spot locked up but win and get a week 14 bye...had I won this week I would have locked up the bye Only non-IDP league that I jumped in to help fill a spot League 5 (5-7)Might be able to sneak in with a win and tie breaker but not 100% sure and probably won't happen..entire division could end up 6-7 SOFA IDP(8-5 two losses by less than 2 points) (helped Darin a bit with the draft) He has a playoff spot locked up but a win ensures a bye for wk 14 Edited November 30, 2010 by keggerz

SpinalTapp
I have a 76-56 overall breakdown record and have scored the third most points of any team in my 12 team league....but I am 5-7 on the year. I am the fifth highest ranked team when record, breakdown, and points are considered....but I have the fourth highest waiver claim this week due to my actual W-L record. I need: 1. to beat a team that I have a 7-5 breakdown against this year 2. to have the #1 team in the league beat a 6-6 team 3. to have the #2 team in the league beat a 6-6 team 4. to have a 6-6 team beat another 6-6 team (the team I need to win has a 7-5 breakdown vs the opponent) With all that...I sneak in as the six seed based on tie breakers and would have a date against the #3 seed - and a crazy good opponent. This year has been the perfect storm of bad decisions on my part (trading H.Nicks instead of J.Harrison pre season; trading D.McFadden for M.Austin, etc), bad luck with players (D.Clark, Brady sucking after Moss left, Austin losing his way after Romo injury, M.Stafford getting re-injured, R.Matthews getting re-injured, R.Wayne being simply average, CJ2K inconsistency and bomb last week), and bad fantasy luck with match-ups (losing to MVick on Monday Night even though I had a 55 point lead heading into the game,....losing to two teams that I have a combined breakdown of 19-5 against)....never seen anything like it. Still.......with all that...I need to win and get some help and I still have a shot at the six seed. Would be a heck of a comeback story...Here is my team BTW - Brady CJ2K JCharles RWayne M.Wallace M.Austin or L.Blount Pettigrew Bryant Eagles DST
louisc9999
I'm 5-7 and, thanks to being in the worst division in the league, I can make the playoffs by beating my opponent (division leader by 1 game) by more than 3 points and have the 2nd place team lose (he has the first tie-breaker (most points scored)). I'm not proud of this team but I'm also not going to apologize for still having a realistic chance of making the playoffs despite having had Randy Moss stinking up my starting lineup for most of the season and Brady putting up sub-20 games on a semi-regular basis. With Brady and the Pats offense coming around and the late-2009 Jamal Charles entering the room (along with the addition of Tamme), this could be a dangerous team in the postseason.
