stew/soup in crockpot

I'd like to make a venison stew/soup in my crock for deer camp lunch tomorrow. Never tried it before, gonna add tenderloin, potatoes, corn, carrots, green beans, onions etc and stock.

My question is : will it be OK to leave it on low from about 9 or 10 tonight until about 11ish am tomorrow or is that too long of a cook time?

911 Bier !

ETA: my crock is a rather large oval style. It obviously has a high and low setting but also has a 'keep warm' setting.

sorry... went right out to dinner after work.

1. i am not crock expert (have never used one). i have zero idea about high and low settings for it so i do not know how the duration at high or low will impact your cooking.

2. i can talk about flavors...... i'd add thyme, shallots, red wine to the mix you described. instead of all stock, go 2/3 stock, 1/3 wine. i like searing the meat before stewing/braising. i toss the meat in seasoned flour then sear.... then add veg..then liquid.

 I knew that and forgot. Too late to add wine, already been cooking half an hour and I think I may have used too much stock already.

Took your advice on the thyme. Will taste and maybe add more in the a.m.

Only place I know of on the 'nets where a guy apologizes for going out to dinner and missing an advice post.

Thanks as always Bier.

ETA: also added a bay leaf

not too late to add red wine and shallots if you have them.... still have a decent amount of time for the flavors to incorporate (and cook off the alcohol).

My wife and I use the crock pot 1-2 times every week as we refuse to bring fast food into our home. When we know it will be a busy evening due to either scouts, or hockey practice, or guitar lessons or anything else, we put together a crock meal in the morning and come home to a nicely cooked meal.

We typically will turn on the crock around 8-8:30, leave it on low, and have a nice meal in the evening. It is sometimes on until 5-6pm without any problem.
