MTSuper7
The circumstances are this: - Thomas is more talented than Derek Hagan and Duke Calhoun (and whatever other scrubs might be there behind Manningham). - He might be motivated now given a new opportunity to get playing time (and against the Rat who cut him loose earlier this year) - Nicks and Steve Smith aren't playing this weekend, and they may also sit out next weekend. I'm not necessarily nuts enough to spot start him this weekend, but I won't be surprised if he is active and gets a shot in some 3 WR sets. I'm sure he won't get that many snaps, but this could be an opening for him to make some noise. Let's face it - the Giants need someone to step up. The knock on him has always been work ethic, but I'm not convinced that he just never got a fair shake from Shanahan in Washington after landing in his doghouse. And Carolina just has too many other problems right now. But the Giants are a relatively stable franchise, and maybe the shoe fits in NY for Thomas. Full Disclosure - I've been following him since he was a stud at Michigan State, and he's rostered on my dynasty team so I'm admittedly biased. But all I'm saying is that I think he has a decent chance to do something with this opportunity (which at best means he might end up the #4 WR on this team for the duration of the season, and he could be fighting for a roster spot come next August). odog22
No doubt he has all the talent...but he hasn't showed us anything at the professional level...ever...I wouldn't be surprise if one day he's a good receiver, but you are right on...he'll be motivated if he's on the field.
