BeeR
ie the true fans who root despite year after miserable year. Your resiliance is applaudable (if not nuts ). Honestly I know this chant happens ever year but IMO they are on the verge of becoming a serious team - if they can just stay healthy. And sooner or later those narrow losses are gonna be wins. PS and however a real HC would be nice. IMO Schwantz blows. Edited December 5, 2010 by BeeR
bpwallace49
They always come to the brink of winning, then find ways to lose. Also, it seems like the bears ALWAYS get to play a team that has some very key injury just happen to them. Shaun Hill and Vanden Bosch were the presents this week . . . Sometimes it's better to be more lucky than good. What I loathe about this(I'm a Packer fan) is that the Bears defense is actually pretty scary good, and if the offense ever gets a little consistent, hell - not even consistent as much as Cutler quits turning the ball over, they damn well might surprise some of the so-called "legitimate" playoff teams. More power to them. Edited December 5, 2010 by Tripleshot

lkirc
I am just numb. It looks better but the results remain the same. There is one constant the Lions organization must overcome. Ownership.
Furd
Honestly I know this chant happens ever year but IMO they are on the verge of becoming a serious team - if they can just stay healthy. And sooner or later those narrow losses are gonna be wins. If I had a nickle. And if you add those nickles to nickels for every "the referees/league are out to get the Lions" comment I hear, I might be thinking about buying the franchise. PS and however a real HC would be nice. IMO Schwantz blows. The Schwartz in not a good head coach. But he is inexperienced. I think the Lions should give him one more year. if he doesn't show some improvement . . .
bpwallace49
Speaking as a Packer fan, I actually get worried before Lions games now. That was not the case in the past. Good personnel moves, the team plays hard every game, just cant get the right breaks. If they could avoid the damn injury bug, they could/should be contending for the NFC North title in a year or two . . .. . seriously. The Next Generation
They seem like an NFC version of the Texans, but slightly worse.
JUMbotron
I think the diehard Lions fans should be enthused. The product on the field is getting better, thanks to a couple good drafts in a row. Stafford is a franchise QB who's been snake-bit, Shaun Hill is one of the best backups in the league. Schwartz is just getting started, give him a couple years for the team to be completely molded how he wants it. He already brought in a couple gamers, Vanden Bosch, Burleson, Scheffler, etc. Best's toe "McFaddened" his rookie year, he'll be electric next year. They'll fix the O-line too. Detroit has a lot less worries than 7 or 8 other teams. The best part about being a Lions fan is 9-7 or 10-6 next year would be exciting, I'd imagine. Unlike Lion teams with rotten records in the past 10-plus years, this year's 2-10 squad could easily be 6-6 or 7-5 right now with a few bad breaks / coaching decisions going the other way (Megatron's non-TD catch, Suh missing an extra point, four straight red zone trips bogging down for FGs in Lambeau, etc., etc.). This has been a much more promising season, despite the injuries and strange turns of events, and what is even more compelling is that the team is still playing hard this late in the year: the Lions have guts and pride all through the roster, and not just in a few players. historymike
Oh, and for the record: I have cheered for the Lions for over four decades without fail, and I have faith that I will live long enough to see at least one Lions championship. If nothing else, statistics work in my favor.
