Michael Bush

Al Davis loves Michael Bush. Don't be surprised to see the Raiders break the bank to keep him around, especially with RunDMC's injury history.

AJ Smith tried numerous times to get him in SD, but Al Davis wouldn't let him go for anything less than a 2nd round pick.

With the way the Raiders' OLine has been playing, don't be too surprised to see Bush have a bit of interest in staying as well.

I suspect the Raiders are going to keep him, they have a very good run game with him as the #2/#1 when DMC is down. We finally have something going, and they invested a lot of time/patience letting him come back from that broken leg in college, so I don't see them throwing it away so early.

Yep Michael Bush is an unrestricted free agent. He might stay but the money wold have to be right. I'm not sure Oakland has or will offer enough money... They have to keep Asomugha somehow, and his franchise tag alone would cost them like $17m guaranteed for 1 year.

They also have to try and keep OG Robert Gallery, QB Bruce Gradkowski, LB Thomas Howard and DL Richard Seymour.

My hunch is that Bush walks, and enters the market with DeAngelo Williams, Ronnie Brown, Joseph Addai (though he might get franchised), Cedric Benson, Ahmad Bradshaw etc.

i grabbed him this week....choice went before me....wasnt much left...wasnt thrilled about starks(plus im leaning heavily on rodgers).....

i really hope his free agency status doesnt hold him back over the next few weeks...this team needs to lean on the run heavily....and he has some nice matchups with denver and the colts at home....really hoping he gets a chence to get some work....say 15 or so a game...i think he has the chance to make a nice rb3 from here on out with the schedule....even in a split

Not Quite.

The contract Nnamdi signed prevents the Raiders from franchise tagging him again. It was a two year contract, with an option for the third year - making it up this offseason. If the Raiders want to pick up the one year option, they have to pay him 16.8 Million, or the franchise tag cost of a QB - whichever is higher.

In seasons past, Asomugha would have walked. With the changing atmosphere in Oakland and Asomugha's ties to the Bay Area, he might try to work out a long term deal that would keep him in Oakland for his career, but it's a long shot.

What I'm saying is - Don't be surprised if Nnamdi hits the open market this offseason.

Howard doesn't start anymore, and Seymour has underperformed all season, and with the Raiders' new defensive line scheme that focuses on heavy rotations, I'd expect him to walk and finish his career elsewhere.

Gradkowski will only get second string QB money on the market, and Al Davis loves him enough to pay him slightly more.

Gallery is a Tom Cable guy, and I'd expect him to get re-signed as a middle-tier LG on a contract that would end his career in Oakland. Al Davis has publicly expressed that he is adamant in proving critics wrong about Gallery's "bust" reputation - making him an Al Davis player, and Al Davis locks his players up as long as he can.

With all of McFadden's hammy problems, the organization knows he has injury problems - and they know Bush can step in and win games if needed. They aren't going to let their insurance policy walk if they can pay to keep him. They'll have the money to do it too.

you think bush can contribute fantasy wise the rest of the way? i really think the schedule shapes up real nice...and if the defense can keep them in games...they will continue to pound

Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable said the offense must remain committed to the run if they have any chance of winning the AFC West division, according to Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers. "We can't now. If we do, shame on us. If we do, we have no chance to win the division," Cable said. "So we can't. We don't have a choice now. That's what it is."

Bush is getting about 10 carries a game right now.

Aside from last week's 23 carries, the four weeks before that he had only 15 carries total.

Jags, Broncos, Colts are good matchups - but I'd say low RB2/High RB3. DMC is the Flash, Bush is the Thunder. They play DmC until he doesn't work, then they start working Bush hard.

low end 2/high rb3 would be perfect for me...exactly what i need him for and what i grabbed him to be.....of the 5 backs and 6 receivers ive drafted...only 3 originals are left on my roster...and im still in it.....i need someone to round out my starting lineup with foster and blount...his schedule and their committment to running made him my target

The Raiders have every dimension covered with the three young guys in their backfield... I can't imagine they'd break that up over some dollars... they've expended alotta time and effort putting this thing together.

Al Davis isn't cheap, he wants to win, and the Raider way on offense starts with power running.
