Scorcher
Last week the Titans had a blocked field goal .( I had them for my defense) There were no points awarded or acknowledgment. If I had gotten the 2 points I would have tied my opponent and be tied for division lead and still in the playoffs. Does any one else who plays on CBS have a situation where there are no points awarded for a blocked field goal? To me blocking a field goal is a bigger defensive play than an interception or a fumble recovery. Is this a CBS Sports thing. Do any of you play in a league where a blocked field goal gets no points? Scorcher
I think it is a legitimate defensive play.
i_am_the_swammi
None of the leagues I'm in give points for blocked FG's +1 I imagine its a league setting that allows you to award points for blocked FGs, but none of my leagues have it in place. BTW, not sure how blocking a low-percentage 59 yard FG that would likely be missed is worth 2 points? I could see awarding some points for blocking a 30-yarder, but I don't think all blocked FGs should be rewarded, especially long ones where the kicker has to kick it low to get any distance (and thus likely doubles the chance it is blocked). Never thought of it that way. I guess the hardest part about fantasy is the reality.
faceplant
Under the "League" tab their should be a "Rules" button. All scoring settings are under there. My CBS league does award points for that particular play, but I'm not sure if our commish set it that way or if it was a default setting. I agree with the OP that a blocked FG is a completely legit defensive play and worth points of some kind. Also, the long FG scenario you made isn't much different than those hail mary passes into the end zone before the half that often result in an interception...should those not count for the defense because they have a low chance of working and a decent chance at being picked off? MTSuper7
Blocked FGs are worth the same as INTs in my main local. I don't think it's a default scoring item.

This is a good point hail mary plays do get counted for interceptions and the difficulty in a pick is very low.
