Surprise: V-Jax returns to practice Thursday

Vincent Jackson - WR - SD - Dec. 9 - 4:50 p.m. ET

Vincent Jackson (calf) made a surprising return to Chargers practice on Thursday.

That's not a move that a player faking an injury would make, and we've never bought that conspiracy theory. V-Jax's return suggests he has a chance to play in the all-important AFC West showdown with the Chiefs. Check back Friday afternoon for the Chargers' official injury report.

He's on the wire for the first round of my 14-team redraft, in which even halfway decent receivers are hard to come by. I'm tempted, but I'm not sure I want that headache.

edit: I just picked him up.

From Rotoworld:

Vincent Jackson (calf) expects to play Sunday barring a setback.

"Hopefully, everything goes smoothly tomorrow," Jackson said, "and I'll be good to go. If I'm available and I'm healthy, of course, I'm gonna give it everything I've got." If V-Jax does play against the Chiefs, he's going to be a high-upside WR3 option on an offense now desperate for a playmaker.

Do you feel lucky or desperate?

In my case with Harvin a no show and gaffney mia I guess Im desperate.

VJax goes into my playoff lineup this week... yikes.

Hmm ... I have Gaffney and VJax, too, and was leaning toward Gaffney. A couple weeks ago I laughed at everyone who started VJax and got zip. I'm afraid of karma.
