Wolverines Fan
Per profootballtalk.com Perhaps the Giants should have flown to Minnesota a little earlier. Giants vice president of communications Pat Hanlon revealed on Twitter that the G-Men are currently hanging out in the Kansas City airport because the airport is closed in Minnesota. There is a blizzard in Minneapolis and it’s expected to continue snowing until midnight. The team may wind up holding their walkthrough at the airport. At this stage, it’s unclear when the Giants will be able to finish their journey. SI’s Peter King and Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune speculated that perhaps the Giants could fly in Sunday morning, with the game being moved back three hours. The only Giants player that stayed behind in New York was tackle Shawn Andrews. That means center Shaun O’Hara, who is doubtful for the game, has a shot to play. PaulOttCarruth
I was wondering about this. The weather is brutal in the Twin Cities right now. I don't see them getting into the airport tonight. It wouldn't be at all surprising to see this game get pushed back a few hours. That may have an impact on Nicks/Smith owners, who now might not have the luxury of knowing if they'll play before early game lineup decisions need to be made. Same deal with Favre...not that anyone is playing Favre.
i_am_the_swammi
Very interesting. As an Eagles fan, I hope this somehow negatively affects the Giants in terms of rest and/or preparation. Why on earth did they wait until Saturday to try to travel in a blizzard?

SEEDS
Snow forces Giants to stay in K.C.; Vikings game on 12/11/2010 4:05:40 PM Comments (0) Associated Press MINNEAPOLIS — The New York Giants are having trouble getting to Minnesota for their game against the Vikings. With about a foot of blowing snow falling in the Twin Cities area and closing the airport Saturday afternoon, the Giants' charter flight was forced to land in Kansas City. Team spokesman Pat Hanlon said on Twitter the team will spend the night there. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Sunday's game was still scheduled to start at 1 p.m. EST, with the Giants planning to fly to Minnesota on Sunday morning. Vikings quarterback Brett Favre is aiming to make his NFL-record 298th straight start, with a sprained shoulder that has made throwing difficult. He's listed as questionable to play the Giants. 51Butkus
I think this same thing happened with the Giants when they played at Indianapolis. The entire team missed the team flight!
kcmast
I've shoveled 3 times (need to get a damn snowblower). Must have gotten over a foot and it is really blowing. Supposed to drop below 0 tonight. Airport is going to be backed up tomorrow.

hoosierfan2010
The cities to watch for are Chicago, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, New York, Washington, Charlotte and Jacksonville. Chicago can seem lome lake effect activity, but the real issue is the wind and cold temps. Everywhere else is rain. The reason for this is the track of the system. With such a northerly track, warm southerly winds on the eastern side help bring it mild temps. It is not till the storm departs till cold air can be brough in on the back side. By the time all of these cities turn cold football will be over for the week. I have a site where I provide weather information for sports. I frequently provide updates. All the forecasts are my own. I studied meteorology. http://stadiumweatheronline.com Edited December 12, 2010 by hoosierfan2010
