buddahj
I'm really surprised he didn't go out there for one snap, hand off to AP & then have Jackson go in.
MustOfBeenDrunk
I'm really surprised he didn't go out there for one snap, hand off to AP & then have Jackson go in. knowing him he may still find a way of doing just that
rajncajn
I'm really surprised he didn't go out there for one snap, hand off to AP & then have Jackson go in. It would be about as meaningful as Strahan's record breaking sack.
buddahj
It would be about as meaningful as Strahan's record breaking sack. This is one of the reasons why I surprised about him being inactive.

buddahj
Where do you rate Favre streak to Cal Ripken streak ? IMO, they are both impressive. I just think it's like comparing apples to oranges.
keggerz
I'm really surprised he didn't go out there for one snap, hand off to AP & then have Jackson go in. supposedly there were teammates that wanted him to go in do just that to keep the streak alive and Brett said no
borge007
Where do you rate Favre streak to Cal Ripken streak ? Not even close. Favre's streak. Ripken played baseball-very little contact. Both fantastic!!
Coach1310
They are both maybe the greatest streaks in sports. Both men played through plenty of pain and were just grinders that the average joe can relate to. In the world of the NFL where guys are going on IR in bunches every week, Favre's is pretty impressive.... but the amount of games for Ripken is unreal too...... I can't put one in front of the other.....

MustOfBeenDrunk
Vikings | Brett Favre headed for IR?Mon, 13 Dec 2010 15:15:45 -0800 The Minnesota Vikings are expected to place QB Brett Favre (ankle, chest, shoulder) on the Injured Reserve list, which would end his season, according to NFL Network. We can rebuild him ,,, we can make him stronger ( for those old enough to remember )

detlef
It would be about as meaningful as Strahan's record breaking sack. I think it would have been more meaningless. Just because everyone has made such a big deal about this for so long. Also, for what the streak means. It would certainly discredit any starts going forward and would, to a degree, lessen the validity of the whole streak. Though, it should be noted that it is an amazing streak. CaP'N GRuNGe
And with tonight game in the books the haters can see what this guy brought to the table. Even with his relatively poor play this year he still gave the team the best chance. Thanks for the memories Brett. Bring on the new coaching staff and franchise QB high in the first round.
