kevfish
Our league uses espn and would like your opinion. In the scoring setup a player is awarded 2 bonus points for 100 yards recieving. Then at 200 yards 3 bonus points. Should the 2 bonus points be taken away when the 200 yard thresh hold is reached? Espn had originally given both sets of bonus points and now took the 2 bonus points away for desean jackson when he reached 200 yards??? Anyone else notice this? what are your thoughts? kevfish
Uh, what's in the rules? Scoring system used by espn dont clarify or state if one bonus threshold is met and then another bonus threshhold is met what happens to the 1st. scoring is set up to recieve 2 bonus points at 100 yards and 3 points at 200 yards

Otherwise you are only getting 1 extra point for something that's pretty difficult to achieve.

If you hit a higher target, then you get an additional bonus.
chester
Either way, whatever scoring has been used all year is still in place and can't be changed in week 14.

Awarding 2 points for 100 and 0 for 99? I think a more typical setup would be 1 for 100, and 1 more for 200. Was your 50+ yard TD rewarded as well? Bonus points can get silly in a hurry... You get standard yardage points, like 1 for every 10, and then a bonus when you get to 100. So if he had 80 yards, he'd get 8 points, if he had 100 yards, he'd get 10 points plus the 2 point bonus for a total of 12 points.

There is no way to remove one scoring milestone if the other is reached. Basically all the scoring categories are tabulated independently. I think this makes sense but I'm guessing you think 5 pts for 201 yards is too much... as opposed to 2 pts for 199 yards. If you think a 200yds game is worth 3pts then adjust the REY200 setting to 1pt next year.

But that's just me, I know plenty of people who love bonus points though. Chacun son gout.

You don't get a first down with 9 yards and a few inches.. a bonus for a TD that was called back. If a RB is supposed to get a bonus for a 1000yds season, he won't get it for 997yds. It's a game of inches Edited December 14, 2010 by magagnon

It makes it harder to calculate points and most of the time I'm at work while the games r going on. I'll catch a spit it of Manning had 3 TD and 325 yards and I'm able to get a rough guess at how many points he's scored. Rather than having to remember how much each bonus is... I personally like the decimal system due to the fact it stops ties... There is nothing I hated more than having a tie... I'd rather win or lose by 0.1 then have a tie

Desean jackson-- no fumbles and scoring breakdown had bonus at 100 and 200 yards and then removed the 100 yard bonus
