rajncajn
I'll never own this guy in a fantasy league... WR Santonio Holmes said yesterday that the reason be came off the field as the punt returner Sunday against Miami was because he'd become so frustrated with how well Dolphins punter Brandon Fields was kicking he begged out of the game, giving way to CB Antonio Cromartie . "It wasn't fun because the guy was kicking it 60 or 70 yards and he didn't give me a chance to get going," Holmes said. "I was upset. I kind of got frustrated and didn't even want to return punts because of way he was punting the ball. "I got tired of him punting. Every time he got back to punt, this guy was standing on his own goal line and he's punting it to our 15-yard line. I'm like, 'Who does that?' I told 'West' (special teams coach Mike Westhoff), 'You can send someone else back there. There's no way I want to return 97-yard punts.' Furd
Why? Moral outrage? I don't understand the position. I don't like Michael Vick. But I wish that I had him on more than 2 of my teams.

lkirc
Why do these guys tell people stuff like this? Keep your mouth shut and people won't know you are dumb as a bag of hammers.
CaptainHook
Did he quit trying to catch passes because Sanchez was doing so poorly? What an idiot.

How does that score you any fantasy points? Has he ever quit on his team as a WR? Unless you get credit for special teams yards, you don't want the guy returning punts anyway. Randy Moss quit on Oakland. He takes plays off. He did ok as a Patriot, don't you think? Are you saying that you would not have drafted him under any circumstances in the last 2 or 3 years? What if he was available in the 7th round this year? Last year? The year before? What about Holmes in the 15th round next year (providing that he stays somewhere around #20 in average points per game as a WR this year and Sanchez rebounds a bit before the end of the year) ? Just curious about the blanket statement, is all.

I just don't like drafting players who I know have attitudes like this because it always seems to bite me in the ass. That being said, I'm not cutting Holmes this week. Especially with him going up against his former team . . .

Agree with Ikirc, why can't these guys just shut up and play?
