Rovers
Jets open with an improbable KO return TD. Then Mendenhall is a looong yard short of a first down, but they give PIT a first down anyway? The H Ward 1st down mark was... um... generous to say the least. Three flags picked up with no explanations? Jets as is their penchant, throw a bubble pass on 3rd and goal from the nine? I've given up on the Jets, so I'm not whining, I'm laughing. These refs and sideline guys are on drugs.
ts
I have no horse in this race, but would have to agree that those 2 first down calls were if nothing else, more than generous spots of the ball in favor of PIT.

These refs and sideline guys are on drugs. The Mendenhall thing was very weird. They just blew it. It should have been 2nd and 1. They didn't mis-spot it, they screwed up on the sideline and moved the chains when he was a yard short. The Ward mark was close, but, the Jets could have and maybe should have challenged. I'm not impressed with the Steelers. They've been finding ways to win, but, their offense is very inconsistent. Rovers
The Steelers could play unimmpressively and still win this game by 24 points. The Jets are afraid to lose, it's like a throwback to Herman Edwards. So, they won't take any chances, and will get stopmed.

Menudo
Rovers, why in the hell didn't the Jets use a Timeout after that first completion on the last drive of the half ? That was bizarre.
ts
Rovers, why in the hell didn't the Jets use a Timeout after that first completion on the last drive of the half ? That was bizarre. I think all the NYJ assistant coaches were too busy properly lining themselves up into a phalanx along the sidelines in case they had to punt, and thus did not notice the clock ticking down. That was bizarre. Why did they throw it short over the muddle? Because this team is a joke. A bad joke. It's like Herm Edwards all over again. They are playing scared. I'm not even frustrated, it's what I expect.
CrazyOne
I like the fake spike play by the Steelers, great idea. Except it would have been better (for the Steelers, and for my fantasy team) if Wallace caught a TD there, of course. Has been a strange game, totally agree. I commented out loud (watching here by myself) when they picked up a flag for the THIRD time. What the hell was all that? Especially on the opening kickoff I wonder what they decided they didn't really see after all.

It was a hit just like that one by E Smith when he busted half the bones in Boldin's face.

Was not helmet to helmet and I am not so sure what leading with your helmet even means. yes the the part of the body the farthest "up field" was his helmet but he hit the guy with the shoulder pads. How do you tackle without leading with your helmet - are you supposed to be standing straight up????

Menudo
The Steelers really need to find a way to win this game. Thinking about tie-breakers makes my head hurt, but, I heard someone say today that the Ravens beating the Saints gives them an edge on the Steelers for common oppoonents. Anyway, I don't want to have to think about it, so, hopefully, they can turn this around and get the win. Not making excuses at all, but, as was proven last year, this defense is not the same without Troy roaming around.
Rovers
TP is a game changer, no doubt, and I agree, the Steeler D loses a lot when he is out. I think he may be the best safety to ever play the game, if not, he's right there.
