hindukid
NFC west is bad. However their records are actually much worse then they appear. Take out the division games which have a guaranteed win for the division and it gets worse. They did Ok against the AFC west but that division is pretty bad too. The NFC west is 5-16 against the rest of the NFC. Take out Carolina and they are 3-14 against the NFC. Also interesting that Carolina has gone 2-2 against the west and 0-10 against the rest of the NFL. I'd venture that Detroit is better than any team in the west. They beat what is arguably the best team by 38. They have a better point differential than any team in the west. I'd actually venture that every team in the NFC minus carolina is better than every team in the west.

bushwacked
Maybe the 49ers deserve it. I will say that many Hawk fans don't want the playoff berth. Almost all of us realize how crappy we are and a lot of us don't want to be associated with the team with the .500 or losing record that makes the playoffs. The humiliation of the press is one thing, but the final score of a playoff game could bring it home. My opinion is "meh."..we are in the first year of rebuilding mode and no matter how empty a division title would be, it's still an expectation for the rebuilding years. Go Seahawks. The banner in the stands might look fine with the state of the team in another few years. Edited December 21, 2010 by bushwacked
