Hopefully there won't be any serious injuries from that rock hard turf.
I heard Minny's punter whining about that earlier today. So how does Minnesota rock hard frozen tundra differ from Green Bay, Chicago, New England (before and/or possibly after FieldTurf), or any other cold-weather outdoor team's rock hard ground?

Those other fields have heating coils underneath them, this field does not.

i'm guessing heating coils in the field(s).

They explained this in the pre-game. something about there being heating coils beneath the pro stadiums. not sure if any, or how many college stadiums use these.

TCFwas put in mothballs after the last home game on 11/27 - too costly to winterize a college campus stadium . They had to bring in portable heaters for the concessions as well as for the plumbing.

 

Looks pretty cool though
