2010 Pittsburgh Steelers

I've been pretty pessimistic about this team all year. They've been inconsistent at times. However, when you consider the turmoil caused in the off-season by their idiot QB, the fact that the same idiot QB missed the first 4 games of the season, the fact that they lost their two starting tackles on an already shaky starting offensive line, and they lost their best defensive lineman, I have to give the coaching staff and the team credit for perservearing and putting together another great season in 2010.

I still don't believe that this team is good enough to win it all, but, I thought the same thing when they won it two years ago, so, hopefully I am wrong again. The Patriots are just playing so well right now, and they have completely owned the Steelers when they've met over the last several years, especially in big games. The Patriots also picked the Steelers apart in Pittsburgh earlier this year. First, the Steelers need to make it to that game though, and they will have their hands full with whoever they face in their first playoff game.

All of this said, I know that I am spoiled rotten as a Steelers fan. This organization and coaching staff keeps this team competitive year in and year out. I'm also a Pittsburgh Pirates fan, so, I know what it is like to root for a team on the other end of the spectrum. The Steelers have a system that works, and it is fun to be a fan of this team.

Of course, they were playing the Browns today, who have nothing to play for, but, I was very impressed with the way the Steelers came out and took care of business right from the opening whistle today. I've seen lots of teams come out flat in games like this, so, seeing the fire they played with gives me some hope for the playoffs.

Now, it's time to get this team rested up and ready for the playoffs in two weeks. I can't wait for the show to begin.
