i_am_the_swammi
Like the fact you went out on a limb...though I don't like the fact you took the Saints to win 3 in a row on the road....especially after they dropped a must-win game yesterday. Something doesn't look right with them, and if they are without a running game threat, its open season on Brees. Caveman_Nick
My preseason prediction was Patriots over Packers in the SB, and I am sticking with that. I think they are the best teams in their respective conferences. myhousekey
Like the fact you went out on a limb...though I don't like the fact you took the Saints to win 3 in a row on the road....especially after they dropped a must-win game yesterday. Something doesn't look right with them, and if they are without a running game threat, its open season on Brees. Not sure how yesterday was a must win for the Saints (their only hope at anything better than the #5 seed was to win and have ATL lose to CAR.... which was highly unlikely). Don't get me wrong though. They were outplayed by a Bucs team that HAD to win to have any shot at the poststeason. I personally was suprised SP waited until the 4th quarter to pull the starters when it was pretty obvious by halftime the ATL/CAR game was out of hand. Other than the obvious task of winning 3 road games, the injuries are the biggest concern for me. They went into yesterdays game without Shockey and Dave Thomas at TE, Colston at WR, Pierre Thomas at RB on offense. On defense they were without DT Hargrove and backup LB Waters on Defense. They also put KR Courtney Roby on IR a few days ago too to make a roster spot available for WR Arrington....which makes me think we won't see Colston again this week... S Malcolm Jenkins got dinged early on as did TE Jimmy Graham and RB Chris Ivory. They are down to 1 TE, Tory Humphrey, if Graham, Shockey and Thomas can't go. They really need one of those more physical RB's, PT or Ivory, back to be able to pound the ball on the ground more effectively. Jenkins has played well this year and is a key component of that secondary. You have to wonder how long old man winter (Sharper) can fill in for him if Jenkins can't go in the postseason. I thought the ideal path for the Saints was St Louis and then Atlanta (two dome games) but it looks like they'll have to travel outdoors to Seattle in Round 1 and hope they can get the indoor Falcons in Round 2. As much as the Saints would want a rematch of the 2006 NFCCG with the Bears it doesn't play to their strengths on that slow Soldier field. Easy n Dirty
I'm surprised at how few posters think the Chiefs can beat the Ravens (I think only one or two have picked KC up to this point). Even more surprised at how many expect the Falcons to lose their first playoff game. Jets over Colts (homer pick) Chiefs over Ravens Eagles over Packers Saints over Seahawks Pats over Jets Steelers over Chiefs (very close game IMO) Falcons over Saints Eagles over Bears Pats over Steelers Falcons over Eagles Pats over Falcons Edited January 5, 2011 by Easy n Dirty
Chief Dick
Chiefs have no chance to win this game. I'd be shocked if we were within 10 points of the Ravens at the end. Chiefs are young and just not good enough yet for this stage.
TitleTown
Even more surprised at how many expect the Falcons to lose their first playoff game. Probably has something to do with how bad they looked on offense vs. Saints on national tv two weeks ago.

But I think these teams are more evenly matched than alot of people are giving them credit for. Not guaranteeing a win or anything but I think its going to be a pretty close game. Chiefs are young and just not good enough yet for this stage. I'm surprised to hear you say that. What scares you about the Ravens? Flacco has proven to be mediocre at best and their defense, especially the pass defense, is nothing what it used to be. This is a very winnable game for the Chiefs, IMO. The Chiefs proved this season that they are scrappy and therefore can win any game. I wouldn't count em out and they definitely will keep it close. Are you going to the game? millerx
Even more surprised at how many expect the Falcons to lose their first playoff game. I am also. They will be healthy, rested, and playing at home. They have beaten the Packers and Saints both this season (their most likely matchups for the divisional game). Probably has something to do with how bad they looked on offense vs. Saints on national tv two weeks ago. I still can't understand how people simply don't take into account that the Falcons didn't HAVE to win that game. They had already clinched (with Carolina the following week to wrap up #1 seed). The Saints HAD to win just to get into the playoffs. Atlanta played a vanilla offense with crossed fingers that no one got hurt... Meanwhile the Saints were busting their ass to win it and only did so in the final minutes. In a win or go home type of game, the Falcons will play a much more aggressive style if needed. The Falcons will continue to slide under the radar until they have to be paid attention to by the "shocked" viewers.
