rajncajn
Pun intended. Keep in mind this is not meant to be a slight against Philly, Reid, Vick or McNabb. It just got me curious. Reid & Philly made the playoffs 8 out of the 11 years McNabb played for them, always with the same result before they unceremoniously dumped him in way of Kolb. Philly's loss Sunday got me to wondering, Will Ried give Vick the same opportunity if a Superbowl victory continues to elude them? How many years of playoff losses will Reid stand for before going another direction? And, if Reid does give Vick the same chance does it ultimately cost him his job? keggerz
Would philly trade vick for a #1? I would. would have to be a sign and trade of some sort...and yes I would, I still think that Kolb is a viable QB that can lead the team. rajncajn
Would philly trade vick for a #1? I would. I would in a heartbeat. Which is part of the underlying question. How in love is Ried really with Vick? I know he's played all-pro this season, but I've got to believe that Reid will have a happy trigger finger if Vick starts to revert or continues to get injured. I think a lot will be told this off season with what Philly does in the draft & free agency, or if they happen to retain Kolb. As many people who will be clamoring to take Vick early in fantasy drafts next year he could very well end up being the biggest fantasy bust of all time. Yeah, you have to think so. He's played well before & really wasn't given much chance this year due to the concussion & Vick's breakout. Jackass
if you're the eagles can you really afford to deal kolb? with vick, you're holding your breath with on every play for fear he's going to get creamed. plus how many more years is he going to be able to play with that style of qb'ing. to deal kolb and watch him potentially blossom into a star for years would be tough. unless they think maybe that won't happen. otherwise, seems like they might have to go one more year - which they can afford to do at 1.4 million - with the current situation to see how it plays out. although kolb's made it clear that he's not going to be happy with that arrangement but how much does reid care about that? keggerz
Weren't there were talks of them trading him though? speculations really is all....he has come out and said he wants to be a starter...basically saying please trade me but that doesn't mean they will and also nothing will or can happen until a new CBA is agreed upon. I don't think we can or should trade Kolb...but I am probably in the minority too...and happy or not if he is a backup and getting paid he will deal with it...and then if they need to they can FT him after this year and if he has to backup another year it would be at serious coin...I think he will deal with being "unhappy" and if and when he gets his shot he will do what he can to prove his worth. I don't even think it's a question anymore. The Eagles will keep both next year (Vick FT) and try to upgrade the D and o-line and see what happens. Reid is giddy with the "possibilities" and they want to see what they can do when they actually plan a season around Vick and give him some better protection. IF the Saints hadn't been beat down at RB they might still be defending their SB title in the playoffs....always lots of IFs and fwiw, with how Eagles management has handled their cap and contracts over the years I will put my trust in them to handle that part of the equation. They're not trading Vick. Too much "potential" in that offense, so that leaves Kolb. They're demanding 2 1st round picks for him now. No one will even give them 1 1st rounder let alone 2. So...he stays as well. Of course, it's just my opinion but it's more than likely happening this way. 2011 draft picks: 1.24, 2.23, 3.22, 4.7 (from WAS), 4.24, 5.18 (from SD), 5.23, 6.22, 7.24 So, even if they get a 1st round o-lineman, he'll take some time to develop. That leaves Vick still vulnerable next season and they'll need Kolb there.

OT 1a. OT 2. C 3. CB 4. OG 4. DT 5. QB 6. who cares? but this is all provided that good value at those positions would be available in whichever round - this would change the order, but I think this is the dream draft.... if anything...I might be fine with going corner 1st....who knows... And all those Dogs want a piece of that old ass!! In an ironic turn of events he gets 2 fingers on his throwing hand gnawed off by a pit this offseason and is never heard from again!!
