DMD
Listening to some radio today and they were talking about something I thought was interesting. As we start to cycle through the great players who are becoming available for the HOF, we are getting into the era of free agency and salary caps. etc. So while in the past great football players would tend to stay with only one team or maybe pull a swan song on another for a year or two before retiring, there was never any question what was their team. But in this day? Deion Sanders played for ATL (5), SF (1), DAL (4), WAS (1) and BAL (2). Who should he be depicted as in the HOF? Charles Haley played for SF (6), DAL (5), SF (2).Who should he be depicted as in the HOF? The announcers said that it was up to the Hall to pick the team but it seems like it should be up to the player. This is going to happen more as we go. Even the great players these days are become less iconic to one team.

rajncajn
Deion shall forever be intertwined with my hatred for the Atlanta Falcons. A similar question about Willie Roaf has been asked in the Saints forums. If I remember correctly he'd said he wanted to be inducted as a Saint, but not certain of that. Furd
In the era of mercenaries, is anyone really going to care? MC: "I'd like to welcome, Atlant, .....er San Fran, ah . . . Wash, no Baltimore's favorite son, Deion Sanders." <crickets chirping>
muck
Team helmet = (2 x SB's won) + (1 x SBs lost) + (1st Team All-Pro) ?????
Pope Flick
Deion is always a Falcon to me for 2 reasons: I wish it was on youtube, but I remember him lining up against Rice and at the snap neither moves they just begin punching each other. The second is the pick 6 he had as a 49er, but it was against Atlanta and he hi stepped it the whole way down the sideline of the Atlanta bench. Never has a former player faced his former team like that. Without him having been a Falcon, that play loses tons of meaning.
T-Scorp
I thought they just put their busts on display. Was not aware they assigned a team. (I don't remember seeing team designations at the Hall when I visited just years played.)

Its is on You tube, and Deion was with SF at the time, fighting his ex team mate Falcon Andre Rison. Here is the link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLs46t3bYY4 about 1:34 into it. And this pick 6 is also on the same youtube clip.

Too bad my memory didn't match the realty of the fight, that WAS great. Still a Falcon in my mind tho... ETA - he threw more punches in that one fight than he ever made career tackles.
