SPIT Scoring

SPIT is an awesome game and voted one of the Huddler's favorites year in and year out!

With the Pro-bowl now the week before the Superbowl, what do you think of adding the following as a weekly scoring boost to the SPIT game for the Pro Bowl:

1QB

1RB

2WR

1TE

1K

1D

who knows how long a QB will stay in the game or what D will get the turnovers, but this would add a wildcard outside of the SPIT strategy of playing guys that make it to the Bowl and allow those 10 spots out of the lead a chance to real in some points.....just a thought, not sure if it makes it too complex, but it WILL add one more week of Fantasy scoring to the year??

I'm always down for any last grasp at some FF as we move towards these empty Sunday's upcoming...

Agree that it would/could add some value to the game!

The enjoyment I did get out of the game was my 6 year old telling me he was rooting for the AFC early on in the game, as I asked him why he was roooting for the AFC, he says "cause the Redskins are in the AFC" I reply, "they are in the NFC", so he says " "and the Cardinals are in the AFC".....once again I reply, "they are in the NFC too".......that, with the fact that the NFC was up 14-0, he began rooting for the NFC................

My two cents... I'm all for making the pro bowl interesting (even though I can honestly say I've never watched one in its entirety, and have watched probably five minutes of Pro Bowl action in the last five years), and can find some sort of fantasy value in just about any sporting event. But, don't contaminate SPIT by including the meaningless Pro Bowl... keep them separate, in my opinion. I enjoy the concept of SPIT quite a bit (I've actually been running my own contest, with nearly the same rules, for going on ten years now), but I'm not even sure I would bother playing if the Pro Bowl was included in that contest.

This.

Pro Bowl is by far the most worthless of any sports all-star games. Not sure why they even bother playing it, they should just do nominations and be done with it.

Who remembers back in the day when the first preseason game use to be the college allstars vs the NFL Champions. Now that use to be a game, wonder why they did away with that one.

Its still got our FF boys... If they're on the field this guy will bet on em'... I don't give a diaper dirt if they take 10 seconds to get off the line after the snap.. If they got a pigskin in their hands I'm game to lay a wager on it.....

I got a problem

Probably because it would by now be akin to the Nanking Massacre.

The Chicago Charities College All-Star Game

1934-1976

"On Aug. 31, 1934, a year after sponsoring Major League Baseball's first All-Star Game, Chicago Tribune sports editor Arch Ward presented the first Chicago College All-Star Game at Soldier Field. A crowd of 79,432 turned out to see an all-star team of graduated college seniors battle the 1933 NFL champion Chicago Bears to a scoreless tie. The preseason game was played at Soldier Field and pitted the College All-Stars against the defending NFL champions (1933–1966) or Super Bowl champions (1967–75) every year except 1935 (the NFL runner-up Bears were the professional representatives) until it was cancelled in 1977. The NFL champs won the series, 31-9-2."

I don't think that a Pro Bowl game has the same significance as a playoff game. Offensive players run out of bounce before they get tackled. Defensive players aren't interested in tackling. The game is basically a joke and It doesn't belong with a playoff contest. Besides, the idea is probably from a person that doesn't have any Steelers/Packers left to play in SPIT. Those fellas didn't play yesterday.

One more thing, I was going to post some crap about why don't they make the Pro Bowl a more meaningful game by giving the NFC an advantage in the Super Bowl because they won the Pro Bowl game. Wouldn't that be about the worst case scenario of a NFL rule?

That's right baseball, you guys have it wrong.
