The Irish Doggy
link Bratkowski fired as offensive coordinatorPosted by jreedy 01/31/11, 1:18 pm Tweet Bengals fans finally have their wish, the 10-year tenure of Bob Bratkowski is over. After saying before the Senior Bowl that there was still the opportunity to make changes to his staff, coach Marvin Lewis did just that by firing the team’s offensive coordinator on Monday. Bratkowski was signed through the 2011 season. Bratkowski had been the team’s offensive coordinator since 2001. After ranking in the Top 10 for three straight years (2005-07), the Bengals have finished 20th or worse on offense the last three seasons. This past year with Terrell Owens, Chad Ochocinco and Cedric Benson, the Bengals finished 20th in total offense and had no consistency. During Saturday’s Senior Bowl, Bratkowski called plays during the first half and quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese called the second half. Zampese is considered to be one of the frontrunners for the opening. Receivers coach Mike Sheppard has also been an offensive coordinator in San Diego and New Orleans. Good move IMO. The offense has been predictable and under productive for too long now. onion. nyuk nyuk

It seemed that if they needed 7 yds for a 1st down, they would run a play to get them 5 yds.
Sox
The list of gripes I have against Brat off the top of my head. 1:Constantly flagged for illegal formations 2:Constantly having to burn a timeout because he can't call the play in a timely manner 3:Abandoning the run far too quickly, even when it's working 4:Never using motion to help his receivers get separation. They ALWAYS come to a set before the snap. 5:The shovel pass that never works
