Shotgun Messiahs
Could Miami capitalize on trading for him? How about Arizona, San Fran, Tenn and Cleveland. Any thoughts?
kpholmes
Any team with a mediocre offensive line would benefit from having Orton under center. From an earlier conversation about Orton this offseason: (in which we were discussing Fisher making a play for him - before he left the Titans obviously) I'm starting to wonder if DEN getting rid of Orton is going to be a mistake. I like Tebow, but when healthy, Orton has looked really good. All going to depend on who takes over - right? The fans are going to want Tebow, which has already turned Orton into public enemy #1. The coach they bring in is going to need to have a strong enough backbone to stand up to the fans and say "Orton is my guy, he gives us the better chance to win" - which is not an easy thing to do when you're the new guy in town. Does Orton give the Broncos a better chance to win than Tim Tebow? I absolutely believe so - and so does almost every other Non-Denver football fan. I understand that Tebow has that "it" factor, and he's a lot of fun to watch - but when it comes down to it - Orton is the better quarterback. I have been nothing but impressed with Orton since he took over in Denver. He makes the right reads, has a great arm and has really shown he can lead an offense. His downfall has been the atrocious play by the offensive line, and the inevitable failure to run the ball as a result. At 28 years old, he's still a guy you can either build your franchise around, or plug into an already developed offense and see results. You put him in Jeff Fisher's system with CJ, Britt and Moss and I promise you he'd be in the top half of the league's QBs. tazinib1
Could Miami capitalize on trading for him? How about Arizona, San Fran, Tenn and Cleveland. Any thoughts? I'm pretty sure Miami is going to go after Mark Ingrim in the draft. That sets them up and other QB needy teams to part ways with there 2nd round pick + whatever else it would take to secure his services. New OC Brian Doball has already made it known that he will make Brandon Marshall the focal point of the offense. He's gonna need a QB to do that and Orton fits the bill. tazinib1
Didn't MIA trade last and this year's 2nds for BMarsh? Do they have a second? You are correct. Forgot about that!
NAUgrad
well, DEN has so many holes and so few picks that I'm sure they'd take a 3rd, 4th, and conditional. The only reason why I think Denver should trade Orton now is because they could get more than he's worth. If I'm Denver, I don't trade Orton unless I get a good 2nd or even a 2nd and a player for Orton. Is Orton worth that? Not sure normally, but there are so many teams right now that feel like they are so close to winning a Super Bowl and all they need is a quarterback, that his value is sky high. I do think the long term answer is Tebow as he's definitely more of a leader than Orton.
Seahawks21
To really compete, you need an elite QB. This is true 95% of the time or so. I think Orton is pretty good, but would not put him in the elite caliber. Therefore, I believe it is a complete waste of time to pencil him as your starter. It will only put your franchise back a few years and keep you from getting an elite quarterback elsewhere. If you're San Fran or Arizona, he may help you win the NFC Worst, but how far is that really going to get you? It might help you make the playoffs where you'll eventually get blown out by a team with a better QB.

Pip's Invitation
We can talk all the trade scenarios we want, but there won't be player-for-pick deals until there is a new CBA, and who knows when that will be.
