keggerz
Sounded like Christina messed up the lyrics she did, was probably worried Ben was behind her.
bdub1988
That may have been the worst performance of the anthem I've ever heard...I missed the lyrics botch-up the first time because I was so pissed at her butchering of the lyrics. Why must the superbowl keep employing headcase female popstars to sing the national anthem when they think this means they should take that time to show off their vocal runs... DMD
And two of the best singers of the National Anthem are both sort of local - Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson.
Sunday Couch Potatoe
And two of the best singers of the National Anthem are both sort of local - Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. And both ironically found by America on American Idol...
bdub1988
Carrie Underwood and the Dixie Chicks are probably my two favorites that I've heard...though anyone with a decent voice who actually STICKS TO THE MELODY will count as a perfect performance to me...I just can't stand singers who need to make it their personal show-off time and throw runs in all over the place or completely change the style and rhythm...imo R. Kelly's attempt to make it an RnB song was the worst ever. Christina definitely gave him a run for his money tonight though.
NoSupe4You
They should get a kid (with no prior fame) to do it every year. Somebody who feels lucky to be there representing the national anthem rather then somebody who thinks we should feel lucky to have them and their over the top artistic impression there.
