Whats the story with Lane? I know when Jackass Sherman came in he moved him to fullback, but I remember him being a redzone monster. Although I also remember hearing that he was soft...

I remember thinking as a freshman/sophmore that he would be a goal line back at the next level.

I really don't know what the deal with is with him. He weighed a reported 310 at 5-10 when Sherman arrived. He was told to get to 270 if he wanted to play hb. Let's be honest. you can start Mike Goodson or a fat monster who would any sane person choose? He didn't make weight and got to play fb. He was immature and sulled and attitude got worse as the season rolled on. Then he stopped working out hard and it all snow balled on him. The last I heard he was working at chick-fil-a in Lufkin and trying to support his 8 or so kids. That being said I think that next to Matt Jones he is the greatest pure athlete I've ever seen play football. If he can get it together mentally he can be a great nfl fb and goal line threat. When he was a freshman at 255ish he was running around a 4.60. If he could get back to that speed he could be a legit starting nfl rb. But I have zero faith in him.
