The Vatican Hitsquad
Wow-- did anybody else hear him a few minutes ago? Tim and Pat sounded baffled by his ignorance of the consequences of the decertification, what was offered by the owners, what roll the former union will have moving forward, why he thinks the players are better off litigating, etc. He sounded like he knew a lot of sound bites that the UNion have been telling the players all along, but without any understanding of what they mean and what happens next. He seems to think the NFLPA will still play a roll moving forward, unless the decertification is a sham and he was just slipping with that info. He had no idea that the owners offered a 60% raise to retired players pre-93, nor seemed to care. He was clueless of the consequences of an off-season injury when they asked him about that, he hadn't given it thought one bit. If he is this ignorant of all the issues and what's going on, how in th world is he supposed to represent all the oither members on the team? He sounded really bad, it sounds like he didn't know much at all and the union really is misleading these guys a bit. I wasn't on the owners side before, but after i heard that statement from the NFL as to what they conceded on, the fact the NFLPA decertified BEFORE walking into a meeting to discuss a counter offer at 4pm, and the clueless interview given by the Eagles player rep i have to side with them now. This union has really done a disservice so far to the players.
WJW
I've heard 2 other player rep interviews since the decert and when asked neither of them had a clue about the upcoming litigation process or what happens now. Pretty sad.
piratesownninjas
I don't think the NFLPA has done a disservice to the players. Player reps were in the meetings all along. They voted De. Smith in.
WJW
I don't think the NFLPA has done a disservice to the players. Player reps were in the meetings all along. They voted De. Smith in. Only a select few player reps were at the table - and that doesn't mean they have an understanding of the ramifications of a decertification. bpwallace49
Only a select few player reps were at the table - and that doesn't mean they have an understanding of the ramifications of a decertification. I dont think most of the player reps can spell "ramifications" or "decertification", let along understand what they mean.
Bronco Billy
Maybe they could show all the player reps the last 10 years' financials. After all, with all that collective college education in the room, the reps would have no trouble sorting through it and coming away satisfied. WaterMan
I dont think most of the player reps can spell "ramifications" or "decertification", let along understand what they mean. And this is why the owners are begging for money.
matt770
What is most ironic about his ignorance is that "Winston Justice" is by far the most distinguished-sounding name in the NFL. Honorable mention: Chase Blackburn Stewart Bradley D'Brickashaw Ferguson

Anything longer than 4 letters they seem to have trouble with!
