Footballjoe
No not together as a meal. But I had some over the past few days for supper. I know this is nothing out of the ordinary for most everyone but since my wife is on a VERY LIMITED diet we eat a lot of fish, shrimp, rice, potatoes and greens. I always try to eat within her diet when I am at home. Well, she went to she her friend in Flordia on Friday. Needless to say I have been bad. Gopher
Wife's birthday today. Yesterday (I had to work at 5 AM today, so I knew it had to be yesterday, if I was going to do it), I made her french toast (her favorite) with bacon for breakfast. Tonight, we're about to have grilled filet mignon, asparagus, baked potatoes, and sauteed mushrooms. Downed a couple of Dos XX Amber's while grilling, and about to open a bottle of red wine with dinner.

I loves me some kraut. We have a big Oktoberfest party every year, but I can't cook it inside anymore per the wife's orders. Although I have come to the realization that it can make your house smell like John Wayne Gacy's crawl space. Still good eats though. darin3
we're on a high-protein, low-low carb diet and the wife grabbed some pork chops from sprouts the other day despite neither of us liking them all that much... they were cheap and she said they looked good for some reason there were 6 total so i marinated 2 each in a thai peanut sauce (pre-made), honey bbq and made one out of soy sauce, vegetable oil and lemon pepper. I ended up only getting to try the last one mentioned but i must say it's halfway decent... i think the problem with pork chops is they dry out real easy we grilled them over high heat, quickly on each side and they stayed pretty moist... we'll have to give 'em a try again. I have literally filled the house with smoke from it

You need to read an article in Cook's Illustrated magazine. It's the Consumer's Reports version of all things cooking. I got a sample in the mail and was so impressed I got subscriptions for all the women that cook in my family.

My wife's folks took them there once, and they LOVE IT becasue of the dessert bar. I was praying for some Olive Garden halfway through. That damn taco bar was just tooooo tempting. My farts have now been weaponized, and could possibly be used to exterminate whole civilizations. I think I may have actually killed the cat
