detlef
It should be noted that, just having all of these gins in this effed up state is no small chore. Four of the Five Gins in this dinner we special order, either taking a whole case (which is a ton of stock for a small place to pick up of something as random as Genever or Old Tom Gin) or finding another local restaurant to split it with us (which is tough because nobody give two poops about weird Gin). But, because I driven only by idiocy, we're not only doing this but putting on a dinner featuring cocktails that use, not only really hard to find gin, but nearly as hard to find vermouth, amaros, and liqueurs. Because, why the hell not? Here's the menu

Rovers
Gin makes me crazy. No, really, it turns me into a lunatic. While I love an old fashioned gin martini, one is my limit. For whatever reason, a gin drunk just turns me into a crazed lunatic. Sure do like the menu though.
SEC=UGA
I'll let my dad know about this. He might take the extra inventory off your hands, he loves gin...
detlef
Monday night we harvested a ton of goji berries from the tree in our front yard and I cooked them down with some sugar and put them through the food mill. Made a new cocktail with the G'Vine Floraison (which, btw, is a very cool gin. Made from grape must as a distillate and infused with grape blossoms. Really pretty). At any rate, a touch of lemon, some simple syrup, and a splash of cava at the end. It looks pretty girlish because it's pink but it's not super sweet, rather just barely sweet enough to overcome the tart fruit. We call it "Fountain of Youth" because of the anti-aging properties of gojis. I realize that drink name has been taken, but it's an obscure enough drink to begin with and I think, given the goji connection, ours makes more sense.
